I have to admit this made me chuckle.

But can you blame me? I grew up during the Golden Era of not only rock/metal and synth pop, but also the Golden Era of hip hop, RnB and soul.

Every time i hear this kinda "smooth jam" coming from a modern Kpop or pop act, i just think why bother? The song has probably been done a hundred times before and much much better. This goes for these LSRFM songs, Either Way, SS/ETA, Better Things, Twice's latest songs, Jennie's recent solo, etc.

Like tell me you actually prefer Smart over these similar sounding megaclassics, i dare you

I can't blame you at all, but I'm not gonna pretend like history is set in stone to the point where we have hard-set Golden Eras that all coincidentally happen during your prime art-consuming years. That's your Golden era, not mine

My sentiments exactly. I loved their interpretation of it. They were inspired by that genre with this song, but kept their identity. Best song on the ep IMO.
