What's the problem with itzy?

JYP groups haven’t had a hit in a long time. Twice have a legacy backing them that helps them survive. Itzy doesn’t.

I dont think their new song is any worse than any recent release by their peers so I would say the issue is their marketing.

I still believe the song will start getting traction as they start promoting/performing it though.

Their boring songs.

Hmm, good point.

Itzy does seem to have a fandom. They're not like Everglow for instance, that is just multis drifting on to the next gg, but it's not a fandom that can be compared to Once.

It has its issues but i LOVE HOW EFFING ORIGINAL IT IS. Normally i would give a song like this a 6 out of 10 blop rating, but i really like how they tried to push boundaries and do something different. 7 or 8 out of 10.

Mostly songs. Referencing one of my previous posts about their production, there is a quality issue.

One incompetent executive decision their team keeps making is not giving their strongest performing members with the most compatible auras most of the rap verses. Their team got it right with ”Swipe” and “Twenty” and got it wrong with “None of My Business” and “Born To Be”.

I’m tired of witnessing this bullshickt.

I’m putting the person or people who made these decisions on public notice. I’m coming for you/them in the ethers. Get right or pay the price.

Tbh, to me it looks like kpop fans moved on to newer GGs as Itzy got older and younger GGs debuted.

Nothing else makes sense. They still release the same type of songs that they did back when "everyone" loved them. No one can tell me Cake is any weirder/worse/whatever than songs like Icy and Not Shy.. these songs fit the exact same category and are all typical Itzy-sounding. I think fans wanted to move on to "shinier" more exciting GGs and now try to blame Itzy, when really not much about the group changed. They even regularly try different sounds (that worked for them in the past), but it doesn't matter.

I 100% believe if Icy was released now it'd flop and people say it's noisy trash, and if Cake was released years ago it'd be a song people would claim Itzy just haave to go back to because it was so much better.

I think their fandom probably had a lot of success stans or multis (like Once/Blink-Midzys) that moved on to newer groups, and their core fandom was likely smaller than people thought.

Don't think it's just the music, because you can have nugu groups release amazing music and not gain much popularity and top tier groups release pretty average tracks as well but it doesn't usually impact their popularity so severely.
