So K-pop fans are really far left

  • Okay so I haven't been keeping up with K-pop a lot, but I learnt a thing or two about politics. And from what I gather and understand. K-pop fans are extremely left. Not just common democrats but like the type to launch lynching campaigns against someone who misused their pronouns.

Obviously I experienced a lot of attacks from people and always thought well the whole world is very sensitive, but no it's actually just K-pop fans who are.

There's a whole near 50% of America who are very different to you guys. And who don't think certain things about certain topics. Or react certain ways to certain things. Even among the left most are not so extreme as K-pop fans.

It's only K-pop fans cancelling idols for drinking starbux.

It's just that in forums like these we are communicating with 90% far left so it's going to be heavily that way.

Not that it really matters just an observation I realised recently. Didn't quite realise it before.

  • idc whether someone is far left or right. I will drop any artist if they are supporting a genocide. 30000 people killed and you don't have to be a far left to realize that's wrong. its only a matter of humanity and not turning a blind eye to others misery.

If someone is out there chanting 'kill Palestine kill Palestine' well that's an obvious sign of a horrible person.

But if someone is remaining neutral to wars and conflicts outside of their interest and just drinking coffee/ eating McDonald's that's not the same thing.

I also think that political opinions one way or the other aren't correct all the time. Like the far left may think this way and the far right may think another way.

You shouldn't be on a side for every single issue just because it's what the rest are saying in your party.

I'm not talking about the war in Gaza just saying in general. I feel like everyone here is just of only the left and far left.

  • Are you sincerely dense or just pretending? These idols clearly intentionally showed off mermaid logo. They meant to promote the brand, not just drinking it. They cannot flaunt the logo freely without the label's consent to begin with.

Yeah I guess they are posting they are going to starbux because it's a popular brand?

I'm not sure what you're implying? That if was an advertisement? Or her subtle support for Israel?

That just sounds like a reach.

  • Would you accept a political opinion that what nazis did was somewhat alright. Obviously no.

you can have political debates on trump and obama or on political parties and their ideas. There is no debate on a genocide and killing of 30000 people. If someone have an opinion that what israel is doing is alright then I am sorry thats not a political opinion, thats just him/her being a piece of shit.

and mind you such people would have been the one praising hitler and finding excuses for him if they were born in germany during that era.

I didn't really want to get into this but oh well. Ive been keeping tabs on the war there.

And to counter you. When Hamas killed 1.4k civilians. Not soldiers, women children unarmed men. And kidnapped 200 more.

The clear thing to say is how horrible. But from what I saw a lot were celebrating calling it a liberation. Viewing it positively. If that 1.4k was 14k do you really believe they would stop celebrating ?

And if you try to spin it from Israel perspective are they trying to kill civilans or are they trying to kill Hamas as a self defence as what they have shown they are capable of?

note - I'm not sharing my opinion just saying what could be different perspectives. Everything isn't black and white. I think we can discuss things without having a clear cut opinion and being stubborn.

Anyway let's please end this Gaza dispute as I don't want a Wp or something. And it also isn't any of my business as I'm no Jew or Muslim.

  • People is not going to change their views. My advice: Dont talk about politics in a KPop forum. Problem resolved

    Well that's the thing though.

This forum is extremely political. Everyone brings their heavy far left views into things constantly attacking users and idols just because they don't talk in a way that view as appropriate.

Or because they aren't doing something they want them to do based on political agenda.

Politics is literally shaping people's minds one way or the other. people don't even realised how heavily they are being influenced.

  • Korean fans general politics are a bit of mystery. Beyond Kpop politics not much is expressed. Probably a good practice not to get too political.

International fans have some extreme views, who make it known. :pepe-popcorn:

Not to defend the attack, but the real number of total killed was a bit below 1 200 killed, and about 700 was civlians. So 1/3 was soliders and other sercurity forces.

Well, when people discuss politics, it can sometimes turn into heated arguments. (even though I guess a lot of stuff can turn into arguments)

or there is a good reason why the "Current Events, Politics & Religion" section has the caption "CE & the two things you never talk about at a dinner party".

  • Btw, what is heavy far left views to you? Because IMO i didnt see too much heavy left views in Kpop. I mean, i never saw a communist or a socialist here or twitter. I would say is the opposite, Kpop fans love capitalism.
Now, if what bothers you is most kpop fans are pro LGTBIQ+ and want to stop the massacre in Palestine. Well, im sure you can find some homophobic and sionists kpop fans too if you look hard. However, i dont know why they listen kpop in the first place. Last time i check there is not much kpop songs about hating homosexuals and supporting the killing of childrens.

It mainly comes up in the cancel culture stuff.

Like people really tried to cancel that winner member because he cheated on his GF saying that treating women this way is disgusting and etc.

In the west not even most democrats would care.

  • A lot of youthg are "left", it's not a big secret. Kpop are a kind of a youth movment so it's not strange a lot of kpop followers are "left". The "left" is also more likely to accept different cultures and people from other contries. So do you think it's strange that members on a forum with a low average age that talk about music and artist from a foreign contry is "left"?

It's just that demographic of the forum that make it that way.

Yeah I think that's what brought them here for sure.

Oh, well sometimes people can be jerks, dont matter if they are letf or right, because cancel culture is not something only the left does.

  • Most kpop stans like to pretend they are know-it-alls on every subject: (geo)politics, feminism, Korean culture, charts, lyricism, etc. If the current talk of town is Korean lifestyle, they put on their all things Korean guru hat and talk as if they have lived their entire life in Korea and are Koreans themselves.

But I see this way, way more on stan twt than here tbh, since most people over there desperately want that hit tweet. I think most people here were able to see through the performative activism of many kpop stans on twitter regarding this specific subject.

Ive been on X more lately and the only K-pop I seen is blinks bringing up every bts shortcoming and vice versa

Damn so this whole bs thread was abt this

  • Definitely not. I did have specific things in mind but I won't call out anyone.

But yeah people leaving hate on somi comments for drinking the most bought coffee in America definitely makes me view them as extremist.

well it’s deeper than her just drinking from a coffee cup, lets not play ignorant here and I doubt that idol is ignorant about this topic at all either.

On your topic about left & right well that really depends because kpop has more fans in more conservative countries in comparison to some western countries.

Last I checked, no country was being invaded by Nazi Germany out of retaliation for something they did, and European Jews certainly didn't invade Germany and murder hundreds of Germans in cold blood before "what the Nazis did."

  • you cant just remain neutral. its a genocide.

Sorry, but I can't take an educated position on every genocide going on in the world. I'm not even going to get into how horrible it would be for your mental health to be emotionally invested/plugged into every horrible thing going on the world even when it does not personally affect you.

I focus my time on the important issues in me on life such as being able to afford ever increasing housing costs, food etc.

And trying to improve the lives of my family and not making the community around me worse.

These are the things that I can actually affect in a positive manner that make my life and the lives of those around me a little better.

  • u forgot we have male gg stans who can be pretty right leaning conservatives like drew b etc

Well, I'm male and only follow girlgroup, but I'm "left", even if I'm more Socialdemocrate.

But you are right that a lot of men is more "right" than young females.

  • The left and the right in my country are a big joke anyways. They are both run by the elite. We don't really have a party for the working class.

The left in my country hates the "dumb ignorant" working class people that vote for the right, and the right hates the "dumb ignorant" working class people that vote for the left.

Both parties divide the poor and play off the divisions between them, by emphasizing their racial and religious differences. Stoking up fear and dislike between groups of people in the working class by promoting inter-class interest groups that only represent one group of people.

The biggest mistake the left ever made, is when it started to focus on cultural issues instead of economic and class issues.

  • Why people from USA think everyone in the world is from USA and can fit into USA political spectrum? :eyeroll-pepe:

It's what happens when you live in a country the size of a continent. Brazilians, Russians, Chinese etc are the same way.
