Wonyoung is today's greatest idol in the classical sense

She is the true definition of an Idol I admire how hard working she is. I just hope she gets to take breaks as well.

I don't know anything about idols (since I don't believe in having "idols" based on the traditional definition), so I don't know what the "greatest idol" would look like.

However, K-netz and JYP seem to agree with your sentiment. I trust the sentiment of K-netz and JYP since they have a far greater idea of what that means. Especially in terms of Korea.

Despite that, I do know that Wonyoung is probably one of the hardest working young professionals in Korean showbiz right now, and she is so spectacular at managing herself that you wouldn't even know how hard it probably is. She makes it look easy, and I respect her for that. She deserves all the success she's seeing.

and I think lots of people forget that being an idol doesn't just mean

singing or dancing or rapping

there are a lot of things outside that that an idol does and if they do more of that than say the singing or dancing or rapping it doesn't make them any less of an idol

And actually Yujin also has the busiest schedule this year in IVE. Starship really makes IVE work harder than ever with their full schedule and non-stop fan meeting.

And I’m glad when they don’t attend some end year award show, instead they spend their time to have holiday 😁

She was already top tier when she was at PD48 - her stage presence and performance talents were already top notch in that show when she was barely 13 yrs old - but over the years she has also been able to develop her potential even more. Respect.

She's the most idol of any idol I have ever seen. She's professional and her mannerism is classy.

However, I do feel bad for her- in the sense that she has to be society's dress up doll. Like a drama character where the evil Mom makes her act a certain way, present herself a certain way, and limit the things she can do.

It's such a shame, she seemed more relaxed in her much younger days. Laughs and jokes around, but those things becomes scrutiny to the public if she does it now. Anything she does becomes news or controversial, and things like those will make you try to become 'perfect' as you can, just so the public can't criticize you anymore. The pressure she's getting is insane, and I hope her mentality can take it.

No matter what, she's still a very young. Majority of debuting idols are. I wish people can be kind to them.

Saying that being an idol is about being perfect is implying those who fail to be perfect in the eye of the public are failing at their job, and it's what's bugging me. And if that's the vision of her fans, Wonyoung must have an insane amount of pressure on her shoulders...
