I still dont understand the rationale for Illin'. NJ got the Korean and American markets on lock, LSRFM got Japan and Korea as well. They're babies still, barely even 1 year old. What new market is this group supposed to appeal to? Is Fromis about to get Gfriended, with Illin' taking over for them? I dont see the point...and we still have the American group coming down the pike...

Just speculating, i mean with Illin' and the American group joining Fromis, LSRFM, and NJ...that would leave Hybe with FIVE girl groups all at the same time with four of them Korean. That's even more than JYP's three Korean GGs.
We saw how fast Hybe jetttisoned Gfriend, i'm not sure they are inclined to keep Fromis when their other GGs are selling 8x - 10x as much literally.
I mean, it's the only logical resolution. HYBE has NJ and Le Sserafim, why would they need another Girl Group? They want to dominate everything. They know that Korea will never 100% love Le Sserafim bc 1st they have Girlcrush concept and 2nd the Garam scandal (I mean look at Stray Kids, Knetz still call them the Bully group even though Hyunjin apologized).
And ever since they saw the big success NJ is internationally they decided on them being an international group. Super Shy has almost no Korean lyrics. Most of their songs don't have Korean lyrics in the chorus at all (Their new ones)
Also, there are a lot of similarities between IVE and Ill-It
- They have six members
- They are a Visual group
- Their names have similar meanings: IVE: I have, I'll-It: I'll be it
- Wonhee gets a lot of hate, similar to how Wonyoung gets hate (not on the same level tho)
- Wonhee sounds like Wony which is a nickname Wonyoung fans call Wonyoung (Super random ikr)

Maybe they want a girlgroup focused on Korea but I’m sure illit will never have the same popularity, let alone be bigger than newjeans or I’ve in Korea. But I guess they can try
They won't surpass IVE bc IVE is IVE yk, we won't see another It-Girl like Wonyoung in the next 3 years, and the moment Yujin will make her acting debut...
But NewJeans? Well idk... They are known for their innocent beauty, but I'll-It seems to have a similar concept. Also, they don't have a member like Hanni that is from a country like Vietnam, Thailand or Indonesia...
