whoa is this a sign from god?? i mentioned engineering ONCE to my school counselor and took an engineering class for like 2 weeks during the summer (i dropped out since it was hard to concentrate in virtual learning) and ever since then my parents, counselors, every adult figure in my life have been pressuring/begging me to become an engineer and follow in my successful cousin's footsteps. this is perfect advice. how did you know???

lol, I lived the experience. My Dad was desperate for me to do a STEM degree and I got into Chemical Eng. I caved into the pressure even though I was always more interested in the humanities. and omg dude, I seriously regretted it. By some miracle I managed to graduate but only with a lot of extra support from my professors and I ended up with several mental breakdowns + severe anxiety. I'm not cut out for engineering and only took it to please my Dad. I just wanted to warn other people to think twice before taking Engineering if they aren't interested in the subject. I found it very difficult to grasp some concepts and I had to learn a lot of programming and coding which I didn't know when I accepted the course.

One piece of advice I give is that if you don't know what you want to do you can enter college undecided. You'll just take gen. edu. classes while working with an advisor. The con of going in undecided is that you'll probably have to spend more time in college. Once you decide on a major you'll have to take extra semesters/terms to make up for the classes that apply to your new major.
But imo, its better than entering college majoring in something you're not 100% sure about.
