I'm suprised(and very happy) that STAYC have managed to survive the large influx of girl groups from the Big3/4

STAYC is a girl group from a very small company, High-Up was founded in 2017 and STAYC was their very first girl group. The only kind of help they had is that their CEOs Black Eyed Pilseung, are well-known music producers. Which is nothing compared to the automatic attention and hype you get from debuting under a Big3/4 company. And yet, despite coming from such a small and new company, STAYC are very popular in South Korea. ASAP, RUN2U, and Teddy Bear are all top 10 hits with Teddy Bear peaking in the top 2 on Melon. There have been several girl groups debut under the Big3/4 after STAYC and yet despite all of this they still continue to grow and reach new heights. They didn't have Big3/4 privilege or popular members from a popular produce girl group to give them a head start, and yet they still managed to carve out a place for themselves in the 4th gen hierarchy and I couldn't be prouder. They remind me of Apink and Gfriend to be honest, while they never managed to reach the popularity of groups from the Big3, they still managed to make a name for themselves in kpop history.

Here's to hoping Bubble will become STAYC's first number 1 hit

STAYC is unquestionably the current top-ranked gg after the top 5 ggs. Given the arrival of new girl groups from YG, Mnet, SM, and HYBE soon, they will likely rank in the top 10 once they catch up in sales. They are in a better position than ITZY or NMIXX domestically which is kind of surprising.

Their sales are very good for a group with such a small international fanbase. Teddy Bear had around 300k first week sales. And yeah, STAYC outlasting ITZY in terms of domestic popularity is kinda surprising. Really goes to show how a consistent concept and sound wins over trend-jumping and an unstable group identity.

Yeah basically. Since I personally consider Cube and Starship to be big companies even if the arent as big as the Big3/4. STAYC are the only 4th gen girl group from a nugu company to make it big and STAY big.

Yeah. The amount of successful girl groups from nugu companies has been getting smaller and smaller. In 2nd gen thier were a ton of groups from nugu companies on par with with groups from the Big 3. In 3rd gen there were some like Gfriend and Mamamoo. But in 4th gen STAYC are the only ones, Fifty Fifty could have joined th but then thier careers imploded.

unlike stayc, fifty fifty debut wasnt successfull. that was their comeback.^^

the last one who did that was gfriend. then they got murdered.

but tomorrow is 3rd august. 16 years ago snsd started a new kpop era with into the new world. and now bb girls debute will bring us on the next level. so everything will be fine.

A reminder that with current sales that Glasses director from Circle Chart said that he wishes STAYC best to hit that 1M album sales mark which would mean they've made a leap to the top.

We will see, the most important thing is to not decline now, sales must be at least a bit better than with previous album

They are a great group, good songs, good vocals and all around seems fun. CEO seem competent too and always helped the girls. I remember seeing the Gym Jong Kook episode where the CEO was pleading with KJK if he could do a challenge with the girls.

I love the Teddy Bear song

High Up entertainment does have partnership with CJ E&M.

But is not like Starship where they are majority owned by Kakao Music.

Plus CJ E&M have tried with their own groups and they have mostly failed, so being a huge corporation has not helped them.

it changed

CJ E&M had 51% of HighUp

then Black Eyed Pilseung bought out those shares

and in 2021 may or june they sold 40% of shares to KAKAO

Kakao acquired HighUp shares when Kakao CEO got plans of going 'full entertainment' mode, he also acquired Antenna then, but not soon after Korea Fair Trade Commission started to meddle around Kakao taxi, and delivery services saying they are killing competition etc. so Kakao put all plans on-hold, and nothing changed since then
