The chorus being divisive was definitely deliberate, as it's similar to the kitsch aesthetic that people either love or hate

Everything else is perfect but the chorus drop is still tough to take sometimes. Verses perfect, prechorus buildup even better, rap amazing, but the dang chorus... ... like i said before, everyone hates on Teddy for his drops and empty choruses but the drop in Kitsch shows just how tough it is to do a great drop and how amazing Teddy is in comparison .

I don't like Kitsch at all. I Am is way better and a bop.

❁ཻུ۪۪♡MY OPINION: I think Kitsch wasn’t a bad song, it was solid, however when compared to the release of I AM, let’s be honest it kinda lacks. Kitsch was extremely catchy, I will give you that, and the vocals really progressed it felt like a new chapter. I loved that they tried something new, something fresh, and this luxury concept suits them great. When I ask people how they feel about Kitsch, they always complain about the weird change in beat when the chorus begins. As a person who actually enjoys experimental music, I actually loved this part!

❁ཻུ۪۪♡CONCLUSION: I think people dislike the beat and melody change from the chorus, but to be real I haven’t seen many even hating on the song!
