What's the point of even having solos and sub units anymore when it is not in any way different?

    Solos and units used to be made for a different experience. Like take G Dragon solo songs, Taeyang solo songs, TOP solo songs, GDxTOP songs and BigBang songs, they all had different things going to them. Taeyeon solos, TTS and SNSD songs were all different as well.


    This Jisoo solo is literally the same as Jennie's single and some BP bsides. Only Rose had a different vibe. And nah, I am not being shady specifically against BP, I said the same about Nayeon song. It was the most Twice song we've had in ages.


    TOP Kpop is freaking boring, only nugus put out great songs. I'll go back to listening to Cupid on repeat. :pepe-grooving:

    Taeyeon was notorious for hating most of SNSD's title tracks. Of course her discography is sonically distant from it for the most part. Same with Tiffany and Seohyun. Arguably the one doing solo music closest to OG SNSD is ironically Jessica.


    F(x) didn't care for their music or SM entirely, so obviously the 4 that did release music chose completely different parts.


    Twice has always been proud of their original work even if they wanted to change things up. Nayeon is literally the center and arguably was the best center of 3rd gen for OG Twice. Look at the songs she's written for Twice.


    Blackpink doesnt write much but they've always made it clear that Teddy takes their opinions and interests in mind. So it's not surprising that each of their solos sound like different aspects of Blackpink songs.


    Taeyang's music is a natural progression of early BigBang. Daesung's is the most different because his upbringing and influences are completely opposite of everyone elses.
