I understand being a “fan” like listening to anything that comes on your playlist and stuff and basically just liking them signing and dancing.
But I’ll never understand grown adults who want to “Stan” teens and it’s creepy with NO exceptions. Stanning means they’re interested in the idols themselves and honestly what on earth does a grown man or woman find interesting in a 16 year old that’s anything NOT creepy.

I don't know if this is in response to my Hanni thread. But figured I'd give a response.
Hanni is 18. As far as I'm aware. Believe she'll turn 19 in October.
My thread was not meant in some kind of underhanded way or suggestion.
It's straight up. An appreciation thread. Nothing more..
Why did I make it? Or why do I like her?
Because she's likeable. I fell in love with NEWJEANS music first. And naturally you then check out the group to see what they're like. And Hanni has a really charming personality and presence that contributes so much to their interviews and lives and dynamics. She's been central to their whole member makeup.
She's a very charming person. I do think she's pretty. I don't think that's wrong to say about her. She is. But I'm not meaning this in some pervy way. Just a simple admiration.
And she's so fun. Look how she is always kind of joking and the life of the party with the members. Also taking speaking and leadership roles when the other members are nervous or more hesitant. She's always out their as their rock and center.
And she's so talented. Can sing and play instruments not to mention her great. dancing.
I admire her. I think she's a very talented and likeable person.
And that's the reason I made that thread about her. It wasn't meant to be anything more than that. Just a celebration of her being such a charming idol.
I truthfully do not mean to make anyone feel uncomfortable.
It's just me getting excited about an idol I find charming and wanting to share that with others who may like her.

I side eye stans sometimes cuz of the way they talk about their faves. There are definitely people who stan for gross reasons. But I wouldn't lump everyone in the same boat automatically. I think the age bias is discriminatory.
I'm an older fan. My faves do run a bit older (EXO, MX, Got7), but I've recently fallen hard for XG. I love all 4 songs they've put out a crazy amount. I also think they're very talented and their performance abilities are already amazingly well honed for such a young, new group. I'm stanning them.
I also love P1Harmony. Their disco is already amazing to me and they also perform really well.
The rappers in both groups are surprisingly good for their ages.
I've been bashed for being an older fan and it irritates me.

Yeah those older women were gross af but I was not a fan at that time so thankfully I didn't have to see it all directly

It’s downright creepy and those defending it are just exposing themselves. If a grown adult I knew IRL was into watching variety content/BTS/“supporting” ardently underage idols I would never want to associate with them no exception.
It’s got the same energy of predators saying “you’re so mature for your age” no they aren’t. You’re just creepy.

It's simple, DON"T sexualize minors. DON'T obsess over them as if you were in love with them. It's not a competition on which parasocial "relationship" is "normal" and which isn't. Unfortunately ifans only care about morality when they can weaponize it, this is why cancelling idols over CA was a big thing until their own biases were doing it. This is why ifans were so against minors debuting when IVE and NewJeans were rising but suddenly stopped caring when YG and SM are debuting minors.
These "calling out" threads don't help real victims to pedophilia, it's only used as hit pieces. If you honestly find something harmful to children, then you'd show the evidence without the "sassy" vagueness.
