Is Nmixx a mainstream group or a "not like other girls" group?

It's just my feeling that they are being contrarian and too different on purpose, and that their fans feel the group is especially superior because the group is different. I guess you could summarize it as whether I think they are trying to be hipster or not.

Not necessarily "trying to be different/unusual" cause a lot of groups are. But like if they are trying to be for nonconformists or a niche audience, or not.

That is what makes them seem contrarian, wanting to be seen as different deliberately and going against the most natural, conforming, and understandable ways of doing things. Although I guess in some cases, it is their natural way of expressing to be trying to come off as unique. Like I-dle just says what they think about life. But they still come off as trying hard to be hipster to me.

There is more room for thinking about that question, like what if someone just naturally expresses their feelings in a way that comes off as trying too hard. You can't really tell whether it is forced to be perceived as unique or it is actually the most instinctive and natural way of expression of them.

Like what if someone makes moodboards and aesthetic edits because their environment taught them that's a normal way of expressing things, and they aren't trying to be a hipster tumblr user on purpose.

I did that when I was young too I always wrote my stories in a weird way, intentionally inserting jokes or turning a letter O into an orange, because I wanted to show the teacher that I am different and special from other kids. But it is hard to say whether that was a forced/obnoxious way of trying to make a certain impression, or natural cause I was trying to have fun.

Are nj not like other girls or just like other girls?? 😭 Or just a punching bag for yall to throw any insult at them no matter how contradictory and inherently laughably dumb those insults are? 😭 At least be consistent and pick a side 😭

It's a commercial argument used every time by all the companies when they start a group. You can see it in YG video about the debut of Baemon they try so hard to explain us already how their group is so different from the others, talented and all the usual bullshit.

I think you have this feeling with NMIXX because the group is still young and they don't have a very defined style yet and JYP is a shitty agency unable to work properly which doesn't help them either create a clear identity.

As soon as a girl group is trying to find their own flavor, they are labeled by OP as try-hard and not the others girls offenders. This post weirdly sounds misogynistic.

NMIXX music just doesn’t appeal to a lot of people but the group has potential so they will maybe make it if JYP thinks again their sound.
