I know a lot of kpop fans who stan a lot of gg but very loyal to only one bg. Why?

We all know why. They spend their limited resources on a single BG but multi-stan GGs to talk bullsh*t on Twitter

I noticed that too and also would like to know. Its a weird phenomenon

Not just that never seen anyone “stan” just one GG either it’s always multi stanning even the ones that don’t like a BG.

GG’s are just more broadly consumed and liked than BGs.

This is literally me, except I'm loyal to two bgs. Also, interesting question OP.

Music wise only SHINee resonate with me in kpop

I check ggs more than bgs bc I'm more interested in their fashion, styles, hair and makeup.

Even if I don't like the song, I can like their overall visuals

I notice that too but it happens with some 3rd gen girl groups stans too. they are loyal to their bias group ( like onces and blinks) not so much for 4th girl groups stans they move on to the next gg

like gg wise, i stan a lot and love is equal but with bg it's one or two which i STAN. like me it's mostly BTS then every other group ( Stray Kids is @ a close 2nd ; im seeing them in april) but idk why. like if it comes to who i spend most money on merch its BTS with 150+ dollars spent (6 albums, hoodies and BT21 stuff) then Stray Kids (1 album and lightstick soon!!) but idk why tho !!

This may be a very controversial take but if you on spend money (buying albums, merch, concerts, etc) on a BG and don't spend any money on any other artists, then you only stan that BG.

Stanning for me = willingness to spend resources. Ofc if someone is very young or simply doesn't have resources to spend on any artist then I can be convinced otherwise, but the wallet reveals the real priorities.

For what it's worth, I've attended concerts of several different kpop acts and stream the music of many but have only ever stanned two acts and those are the only 2 acts I've purchased albums/merch/fanclub membership for as well.

Prettty sure there are much more dedicated GGs fans in Korea than in the international side. Easy to see why, outside of Korea most K-POP fans are female, and even a lot of the male international fans are gay men types who follow female pop stars like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande etc

I gotta agree with you on this one. I've seen a lot of bg stan posing as gg stan on twitter just to talk shit about other groups. But their actual loyalty always end up showing. the infamous token stans

I don't know, I used to listen to more boygroups casually. But lost interest in them and now I only listen to EXO, BTS and Stray Kids consistently and never got tired of their music.

Even the discographies I used to love, I don't listen to anymore, so the problem is definitely not the music, but me.

I can't explain what happened. Maybe I became a cult member or something
