How can NewJeans/Ive not lose relevance in Korea like Twice/Gfriend did?

Another day, another NewJeans set up thread I see

Twice and NewJeans have mad respect for each other, this is established

and Koreans are whipped for Twice, this is something you don't see from an i-fans perspective

They have just started.. gosh..

Give them another year or 2 before you start (fake) worrying for them

They will be fine as they have grown a big enough fanbase to sustain them as a group. Gfriend were barely doing 50-100k album sales back then, now these groups are pulling 10x the sales so why worry

but to think that gfriend have 3 song charting on the list for top 10 melon yearly chart idol song is crazy they really that BIG during their peak

luck...for the most part

it's hard to tell whether a group will ultimately succeed or not

I think at some point they won't have the same crazy popularity they have now forever but similar to Twice they will have an established fanbase and keep growing in album sales and engagement

In the case of Twice its a good thing. They are making maybe 10 times more money by catering to the global market and touring overseas, than catering to the Korean general public.

Korean is like where you do your internship for a couple of years, before you go out and do bigger things.

GFriend unfortunately promoted at the same time as Twice when Twice had a very public friend song, and they slowly declined from there, because everyone gradually moved to the Twice bandwagon. There are parallels to what we see now with Ive and NJ.

To answer the thread, nothing lasts forever, but NewJeans will have a very long career as long as the members continue to avoid major scandal, stay true to themselves and their management continues to hit home runs.

This is so funny to me bc youre trying to say ive will flop like gfriend and nj will keep a career like twice but u should be worrying more about mhj not dropping them once all of nj become adults instead since teenagers are literally her source of inspiration

How about we just don't think about the downfall of groups for once . I'd like to believe that all my faves will stay popular even when we get invaded by aliens, and I hope the aliens discover their amazing music
