Will there be as many girl groups joining the "million album seller" club as there are boy groups? GG fandom growth is crazy.

Glad ggs are doing it. They have gp, fandom, touring, cfs and name recognition. Bgs only had album sales to downplay ggs and now they can't do it anymore.

Its mainly because the big companies put out more GGs. Ateez still seems like the only artist from an unkown company pulling those numbers.

Red Velvet and NewJeans sure do that this month.

Two years ago it was great success for girl groups to reach 250 thousand sales (platinum). And only BP, TWICE and Iz*One (and in 1997-2000 S.E.S.) managed over 500 thousand.

It's also only a year since BP, TWICE and Lisa made it over 750 thousand (triple platinum), S.E.S had achieved that in 1999 with their Love Album.

Consequently, sales of (G)I-DLE and Le Sserafim are also very strong.

LSFM and New Jeans are guarrrented to reach 1m

Idle is extremely probable, and red velvet also quite probable.

It is definitely possible, though bg will have Treasure very soon and The Boyz is probably around one hit song away from reaching 1 million.

It's hard to count NCT also, you have Dream that I think you can count alone but then 127, U and full group projects all get 1 million easily.

I believe Fin.K.L also achieved the 500K sales threshold with their album White in 1999.

1M is old news now. Which GG will become the next 2M seller? So many possible candidates that could hit it in 2023. aespa seems like the frontrunner if they have a comeback before people forget about them

I think ateez doing really well even pre halazia. To me they seem as successfull as the other top groups for a while allready.

Is that a hard one to guess? It’s basically whoever comes back first between Aespa and Ive. No one else is anywhere close.

I think LSFM could surprise everyone with the sales next release. They seem to be gaining a lot of (dedicated) fans. 900k to 2M is probably not going to happen though, you're right.
