Which 3rd gen girl group does NewJeans remind you most of? Red velvet, Gfriend or Twice?

Hmmmmm are they?

Sound-wise it doesn't like gfriend? I think it's more for the mv which are both located in school, wearing uniform and a bit of their color grading.

But it's kinda weird you know? Some fans said they are fresh thing, like a new group that we haven't seen before. But there are these kind of people who sees them as the next/successor/junior of some groups...

But well, each person may have a different reception.

And maybe some fans of the existing groups are justifying some reason just because they love newjeans and the 3rd gen

For me tho, I see them as a new type of groups, with no predecessor.

Musically it’s red velvet. Any of their songs will fit in an RV album. MHJ has taken RV’s best sound and made a new group with a much better budget. Best decision for her lol.

They don't remind me of any of those groups honestly.

NJ definitely sounds like RnB Red Velvet. All their songs are basically some derivative of Bad Boy. OMG even has the exact same mega irritating cicada trap high hat that destroys my enjoyment of the song from time to time (Both OMG and Bad Boy).

Red Velvet, r&b stuff and all that.

OMG does not sound like a Twice song like at all. I think the closest thing to Twice this gen are STAYC, early Weeekly (Hello is straight from the early Twice vault idc) or IVE but they're all still very different.

I agree with this.

As someone who has listened to Twice's full discography too many times to count and can recognize the intro of most songs, I can safely say that OMG doesn't sound like a Twice song.

It's almost "too young" compared to their newer releases somehow. You can almost tell that Twice songs are being sung by a more mature group. But still too old and too teen crush-like to be rightfully compared to their older, cuter discography.
