Which one in better position now between Aespa and Itzy?

Might seem unpopular but ITZY.
They have a well established fandom, good international relevance. They are already holding their own concerts and tours with their wide discography.
Even if they don't have like a super big hit or any hit that was as big as Dalla Dalla or Wannabe, they already cemented themselves to be successful and will only start to earn even more revenue for themselves as the years goes on

They never flopped like itzy did with cheshire yet and i don't think it's going to happen soon because all of their songs since Next level enter the top 10
And they are consider much more trendy
And they clearly have a big and solid fandom already looking at the fact that they were the highest charting 4th gen gg on oricon yearly
And that they have the best selling 4th gg album + they were able to sold out their showcase in the same stage that itzy were doing their concert
They are doing very well in my opinion and now that SM is giving aespa more contents recently and give them more freedom to do instagram live when they want and tik tok i can imagine their popularity grow exponentially

aespa probably have the biggest 4th gen fanbase rn, had DCT doing well this year in addition to NL still charting & Girls/Illusion doing moderately. And they made it to Gallup and even though they're kinda flops on Spotify have never did as bad as Itzy's last 2 comebacks on there. So I have to go with them

i think they are not even comparable.
ITZY has always been strong on international streaming (youtube and spotify) but lately they arent doing well on both these metrics, which means they lose their strong point.
Aespa on the other hand, has been more consistent with charts and proven to be huge physical seller. They have shown tremendous growth in sales and it will only go higher from this point onwards.
They are in different position now imo. Aespa still growing on their strong point but ITZY losing their international appeal. So i would say aespa is in better position. JYP jsut need to make up his mind to either focus on international or korea cause releasing a song like sneaker and follow up with Chesire arent helping at all

Aespa. Best album sales(for a 4th gen GG) and they will probably have better touring numbers than Itzy too.
Girls did better on BB200 than both Itzy albums this year.
Illusion and Sneakers are similar level hits.
Karina and Winter >>> Yeji and Ryujin both in Korea and internationally.
Aespa just seems to have a bigger fandom and are still relatively new so casual fans will still check out their music. Itzy, on the other hand, are declining and their tour numbers aren't too great for me to put them above Aespa.
Off topic, but I feel like LSF will have the biggest tours among 4th gen GGs

People are gonna pick their faves and I'm obviously biased, but as objectively as possible I think it's Aespa for a few reasons.
Aespa is a newer group, and doesn't have as many gg's to share the resources and limelight with in SM.
While people like to spread the narrative that Aespa flopped this year, their "flop" was only marginally less successful than Itzy's most successful release this year digitally in Korea. On Spotify, Aespa edges Itzy out slightly with both Illusion and Girls compared to Sneakers. Physicals it's Aespa, with one mini doing about the same as Itzy's two releases combined so far (obviously Cheshire is still new).
Taking a look forward, news out of China is that they may have started to relax the rules around Korean entertainment. If this is true, it will be bigger for Aespa I would think.
Recently I've also seen a number of posts from Midzy's who haven't been happy with what JYP has done for Itzy this year either despite having so much content. Personally I think that's more concerning than MYs complaining about a content drought (considering that the drought seems to be well over and they've seemingly got a stacked early '23 ahead).

actually it is not only Midzy.
I have been a casual listener of ITZY but lately the releases are kinda confusing? Sneakers brought back their younger teenn crush sound which is a bit polarising but at least it was enjoyable. Boys Like U is totally a NO. And then Chesire is like going 180 degree turn again.. out of the 3 songs i only put sneakers on my playlist
Edit: but again, the drought on aespa is super weird too. They released only 1 album this year and theyre gone totally from the scene. The only other song they released is a christmas song collab with RV. And next month, GOT the beat comeback. Where is the aespa comeback? Never in my life i demand a comeback or even a repackage so much from a SM group. Usually SM milk the fans with so many albums and repack but now?? Aespa has 1 album for 2022
