    ============

It seems giving #1 to CSR , although it met the criteria for that point of time, was too much even for the stubborn staff of Music Bank.

I did watch CSR's post-win video. They were NOT given mics after what will probably be their sole win in major music shows, meaning even the staff is not treating them as winners.

Music Bank shenanigans will continue but at least this change means people like CSR, plus domesticists like Younha and trottists like Lim Youngwoong will NOT win Music Bank.

I am sorry, but domesticists don't really have the rights to interfere with KPop's future. At least LYW seems to be behaving a bit better after Music Bank taught him a lesson earlier this year, although his fans are not.

I don't see anything wrong with discriminating against acts who are not really relevant outside of K-O-R-E-A. Lee Jieun will be tolerated since she is an established figure, but these changes will make sure there won't be any domesticists and acts from companies no one had heard about before making a stir to the general order of KPop.

  • Musix shows are basically glorified popularity contests for years now. SNS, YouTube, broadcast points, physicals sold abroad etc can all basically totally change who the actual winner sound be which used to based on or at least heavily lean toward chart ranking. Now a high charting groups can easily be beaten by groups who don't even chart in the top 100 lol. They're less music shows and more idol shows.

  • I mean this was a long time coming, it's weird to lay this solely at CSR when there have been more random groups that have won on soft release weeks on music shows. The industry is merely continuing to reflect the marketplace where there are several very successful kpop groups that are more successful outside of Korea than in it, but will bring fans and clicks to their sites and programs - which is all the music shows have wanted in the first place, no matter where it comes from.

  • He's back on the K-O-R-E-A N-O-N-S-E-N-S-E again

I don't think this is a good thing.

    Ditto

Honestly, if Lim Youngwoong is popular in Korea and Koreans are enjoying his releases, then he should be recognised for that in his home market.

But instead the usual groups are going to win over and over again because now its much easier for typical vote manipulation bullshite from... other countries and those weird "retweet me 42 times and I'll give 100 votes to your fave accounts" to take place.

Which is as it should be, no one wants to see musty old trottists, balladeers and "rappers" winning these shows, people wanna see folks with real talent.

  • I mean music shows are basically useless now. I hate when I see kpop fans say "well my fave won on a music show so obviously the song didnt flop in korea lol". Most music shows dont require even charting in the top 1000 to win on them. How else would most boy groups win 5-6 times for a promotion. Also the broadcast points on music bank have made them lose all credibility since the beginning of the year. Music core can be manipulated because its based on gaon and a lot of boygroups fans mass download which makes them debut really high on the gaon digital chart even if they are no where to be seen in the streaming chart. The other music shows arent worth mentioning, that's how irrelevant they are. Inkigayo is basically the only kind of hard music show to win on but even then I've seen it happen before.

It’s not just them, other idols who have charted high have also been beaten. Taeyeon for example was lighting up charts for 1 if her cbs but she got soundly beaten by NCT, who didn’t even chart, with votes and physicals.

  • I actually don't mind about them opening up to the international factor. Because it actually giving a chance for some groups which having more fans outside Korea.

But will this makes any change in power? I think not, because if some nugus who have many foreign fans are fighting with someone on big 4, those who are from big 4 would win because they also got the same chance to have their own foreign fans to vote.

But well, better to give a fight rather than can't do anything and just watch your faves got slayed by big 4 groups.

Even in the end it might ends up as a futile efforts

CSR was the last straw. There might have been some acts who were there for a while and and might have deserved the #1, but CSR, a complete unknown with virtually zero mark outside of K-O-R-E-A (even though this minor act did obtain a Japanese member), winning was the wake up call. It made Music Bank a bad joke over the entire world.

The marketplace simply does not want acts like CSR, or the trot acts, even balladists like Younha.

  • It is a ploy to sell votes to i-fans, but at least it is an improvement over the current system where a complete newbie could game it .

  • Which is as it should be, no one wants to see musty old trottists, balladeers and "rappers" winning these shows, people wanna see folks with real talent.

Omg shut up. The guy is literally one of the most streamed artists on YouTube Korea. He’s more relevant than your favs in Korea. I know his fan mass stream but you’re the same one who brag about Izone digital power while we all know your fandom were streaming like a BG. And let’s not even talk about those groups being million seller without a single hit.

  • But those old trottists, balladeers and "rappers" are not talentless???

If that what's the GP like, then so be it. Also South Korean music are not kpop only.

Their talents are completely useless to i-fans. These shows are for KPoppers to showcase their numbers, not for domesticists who want to feel good suppressing a KPop act.
