Hey I have a question and it's actually an interesting one, come to discuss

  • So I'm drinkin coffee

and thought it's good time to discuss :spammerpepe:

Let me start with this thing, if you would work in kpop company let's say Starship or JYP or whatever label you want to

and you would receive an 'love call' from one or another PD which want to have member A as MC of music show or host of awards ceremony

but member A overall get's tons of work and you are afraid that it will become an all push for member A when other members are jobless

but you still need to look at financial graphs :pepe-cha-ching::pepe-peaking:

then how would you talk PD into picking one of member B or member C as an MC or host instead of member A?

what pros would you say, how would you suggest it, how would you brag about skills and beauty of other members? :flirt-pepe2:

  • If they want member A, I'm gonna give them member A because if you come back with "well how about member b?" they're gonna like "oh member A can't do it? well we have other options"

  • i would always push the member that is in demand tbh. someone said this in another thread ( i think about ive), but the members kind of have to promote themselves to an extent. the company gets the gigs but the idol has to be entertaining and stan attracting. you can go on as many jobs as you want but if people don't see anything in you nothing will happen. reminds me of enhypen sunghoon. i expected him to see success after getting an mc deal alongside wonyoung but because of his stiffness people just completely overlooked him other than his fans.

  • To answer the question "What pros would you say, how would you suggest it, how would you brag about skills and beauty of other members?"

If they were truly having no individual popularity outside of the group or any other experience than being an idol, then it would be hard to argue their benefits, but maybe talking about the brand of the group rather than the person.

: "Dawon is not as well-known as Seola, but WJSN's popularity has been growing in Korea ever since they won Queendom 2, their fandom is growing too because they sold higher albums in their last comeback."

Or "April as a group has been doing this and that" (situation where the group can't argue they are popular)

I don't think you can argue they're attractive and be like "Look up their profile photos" unless they're recognized for their visuals

i would always push the member that is in demand tbh. someone said this in another thread ( i think about ive), but the members kind of have to promote themselves to an extent. the company gets the gigs but the idol has to be entertaining and stan attracting. you can go on as many jobs as you want but if people don't see anything in you nothing will happen. reminds me of enhypen sunghoon. i expected him to see success after getting an mc deal alongside wonyoung but because of his stiffness people just completely overlooked him other than his fans.

I agree, if they aren't interesting then the exposure isnt useful, but I never really feel interest in any MC of a show unless I already knew the person and their group, but maybe it's different for people living in South Korea

I don't get why anyone cares that Soobin MC'd either outside of his own fans and that TXT is famous, could it just be because Enhypen isn't famous, nothing to do with the member

If they want member A, I'm gonna give them member A because if you come back with "well how about member b?" they're gonna like "oh member A can't do it? well we have other options"

I heard in negotiations, you can't give an ultimatum like "member B or nothing", if you are the side with less power because the other person will just walk away

Maybe suggesting both A and B would make sense in some situations

  • I'm assuming guns, threats and blackmail are off the table?

"Sorry, member A's schedule is already booked. I'm really sorry. How about member B. No, that's to bad. I'll tell you what, let me call you back in 15 members and see what I can do with their schedule. (Make them wait 20.) Hey yeah, so here's the deal. I can free up her schedule but I need you to do me a favor. I've got another member that I think is ready for a little bit more of the spot light. So here's what I'm thinking. All I'm asking is for you to let her announce one award with member A OR: (This is most likely the option they would take): Maybe carry the award out with member A. She doesn't have to speak, just stand there and wave good by after that award is presented. Always pair a good option with an option you know they won't like. Business manipulation 101!
