Ofc Spirited Away counts as anime! I should have mentioned Princess Mononoke as one of my favs in my post (*goes back and edits). Basically all the Miyazaki movies deserve mention. Castle in the Sky especially also.

Yes, I love both old dramas and animes! It reminds me of my childhood and somehow they seem to have better atmosphere than many of new productions.
