I wish I was more fluently since I have relatives who are fluently but well, I barly hung up with these people and my mom only speaks 1 language so people around me allways tried to avoid using English

It also felt kinda emberasing as I read an entire English book and my aunt was like "lol you read English books? Do you even understand English?" dude English is thought in school, not everyone who speaks English learns it from their English husbands, aunt you are so dumb....

Someone struggels in whatever language and another person makes them down just for "haha what a idiot, he can't spell this one word lol" and at the end you may increase his insecurities and the person feels wors for just trying their best. I met people online who seem to have met people like you too much and so every time they are not sure how to spell things they freak out and end their stuff with "Sorry, I am not from America" or "Sorry, English is my 3rd language only" and feel very sorry when someone tells them in a harsh sentense how they did wrong

I met so many people online who felt weird for having to speak another language just cause they were not perfect and got hated on or constantly corrected as if it was bad.

Imagine you would let's say lern French and have no idea how to properly spell half of the words, would you like it than if a French person would laugh at you and say "lol you suck" ? I don't think so

Also people who's first language it is can have problems too since they may be very young and never wrote a harder word before or they have a handicap that makes it harder to write

My second language is French but I don’t practice enough so I’m slowly losing it

Second, but I consider it my native language. I'm barely conversational in my first, Vietnamese.

Third. I learned it through internet, simply because I didn't get enough english lessons at school and barely speak a simple conversation back then. It's actually a miracle I can hold long english conversations in guild though. And social media also helps a lot

I learned Danish before I learned English.

Even though my Danish was kind of good before I had to learn it in school, because I learned it from Danish dubbed Disney movies and other stuff.

I kind of did also learn Norwegian before English, because I sometimes watched Norwegian dubbed stuff on DVD.

Also because of it's similarity to Danish, I found it easy to understand.

but if I attempted to speak that language, it would probably sound like a strange mix between all of the Scandinavian languages.

I guess I also kind of learned Swedish before English.

and I consider German to be my 4th language, even though I'm not fluent in it.

My first language is Amharic which i learned growing up by my family. Second language is English which I learned through school and is what I use on an everday basis. I learned Spanish in school but it doesnt count becuase I still can only do the basics.
