This is straight up false. People praise idols who have good stage presence but no one ever claimed that it’s an essential skill to have and idols can’t succeed without it. Some people might be petty that their “more talented” faves aren’t as successful, or maybe they just want to drag idols they don’t like, but no one made it seem like stage presence is everything a group needs. Stop making stuff up just to have sth to bitch about lol

This can be said about any skill.

Do vocal skills matter? There are groups succeding without being great

Do rap skills matter? There are groups succeding without a single good rapper

Do dance skills matter? There are groups succeding without even dancing

Does being self-producing matter? There are groups succeding with songs done by others.

At this point lets go say having talent is useless and If you have a good marketing team, a appealing concept created by the company and catchy songs done by others you can be successful

This is one of the worst takes I've seen this year. Stage presence is definitely important. Groups like bigbang, 2ne1, mamamoo and bts are huge examples of this. Soloists especially like dpr, psy, bibi etc prove this by constantly being invited to festivals because of how good they are. You can choose to have opinions on whether groups have stage presence or not, but to say that it's useless is just stupid.

Please, don't put BP in your op. Jennie "lazy scandal" which was she being sick and sometimes her leg hurting isn't compared to the others groups you mentioned. BP since debut had amazing performances, others just tried to drag them with any false claim bc they were becoming too big.

At the end of the day, the most important is actually what u said last, objectively. Concept that fits a group so it wont showcase their weak areas but instead have people focus on their strongest and a good marketing team to put that shit forward.

How can you watch performances if the stage presence sucks? Stage presence is about how you portray a song and it’s very important and it shows an image and to connect with the song and the artist, most important thing after vocals. Kpop groups aren’t putting a lot of effort into choreo and performing for nothing.

there are so many groups who i would say are equally as average as aespa when it comes to dance but because of their concept and choreo these weaknesses are never highlighted (ive for one)

Stayc doesnt have any standout dancers either but their choreos are simple and catchy so nothing showcases the lack of a main dancer

the stand out thing about kpop is there are groups that are able to sing and dance very complicated choreos at the same time (yeah i know -Lip sync), while looking great

if you just wanted to watch them sing, go and stan Adele

and if your faves aren´t even up to the task to danced relaxed and coordinate while lip syincing...well, they are on a payrole to be drag
