I think it's kinda impossible to hide everything with so many people around, they would need to blur everything or just show close-ups 
Would be also interesting if they'll mix idols in teams like in those old variety shows. Tbh the whole thing gives so many opportunities for entertainment

Idk. Probably fans, fanwars and shippers 
But 3rd gen indeed was different from how 2nd gen idols were on varieties, at least when 3rd gen become really strong and popular (cause I remember, for example, Twice and BTS on same show). For me it looks like in 3rd gen that shift into more "local" entertainment happened: when idols create their own shows for their own fans instead of going to varieties. Maybe just cause such varieties were closed cause idols as entertainers lost gp appeal. Or maybe I just judge from BTS perspective cause they are the only ones I actually observed closely
