If I were them, I would actually feel so uncomfortable. Imagine seeing your colleagues everyday most almost the entire day, and you also have to continue seeing them at home. If this kind of like pattern and lifestyle doesn't suit you, the stress would be immense

I know it can't be helped but still

    original post: here

    1. Me too, I'm someone whose personal space is awfully important and I've always thought that way. If I were an idol, I'll wait until I get some seniority and pack my stuff right away to become independent

    2. I totally agree, just thinking about this makes me feel uncomfortable

    3. For real...Because of the contract period, it makes escaping even harder, ugh I can't do it

    4. I feel like because of things like that, some idols might actually become closer to each other if they were able to live separately? It's like family relationship getting better once you spend time apart

    5. I can understand how it's easy for team bonding and managing if you stuck them together at first, so it's not necessarily a bad thing, but after 1 year, I seriously bet everyone wants to live on their ownㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

    6. For real, it differs from person to person but I bet there are always going to be people who would want to live on their own but because of the life of an idol, you must live in dorms in your debutㅠ This makes me even more impressed at idols who have a good relationship with each other

    7. This is why there are teams with individual rooms the moment they debut nowadays

    8. When I was young, I thought that all members must get along, but once I grow old and I've been working in the workforce, I realize how hard it is... Seriously when you work, you're just trying to not be a burden to each other, as long as your relationship is like that, it's already good..

    9. Seriously this is one of the good things about YG, they give you your own dorm or at least everyone has their own room

    10. Seriously imagine spending the entire day with someone, you can't help but become sensitive

let us gather around for the lord’s prayer:

Nævis we love you. You are the one who protected me when i was in trouble. MY victory, one SYNK DIVE. I know your sacrifices. Let’s meet surely after the resurrection.

    Æmen

    :pepe-pray:

  • I think it would be fun! Always someone to laugh with

i think would be fun only if everybody has their own room but if i'm forced to live with somebody maybe even 2/3 other people in a single room, i'll get very annoyed, i do think it will be fun if everybody has their own space

  • This is probably why recently more and more members reveal that they weren't that close in the past when living in dorm

It's like real life, I would only pray to have good roommate who ain't noisy fuxer

  • well if your group is successful you get your own rooms

    if not well...

Very true. Comparing some of poor Izone and Twice's dorms when they were just no name rookies to what Ive got. Every Ive member better be thanking Wonyoungie and Yujinie every day for blowing up under Izone.

  • It can't be much worse than the dorm rooms when I was in college where it was two rooms in a suite with two people per room and you shared a toilet and shower. It sucked if there was tension but if everyone was getting along, it wasn't a problem.

even for people who say money can't buy happiness

they won't disagree that it certainly buys more freedom, opportunity, safety net

if i recall twice dorms were three to a room and izone dorms were similar right?

Yep, Twice was 3 to a room and Izone was even worse, 8 of the members were forced to share two bedrooms, with 4 members in each room. Good thing they were all literal kids during those early years half of them 18 or under, i dont think even young adults in their 20s could handle this.

ahhh yes I remember 4 to a room...in bunk beds...

although that was similar to ioi

I wonder what kep1er's living situation is like

Yea, if everyone get along, then i think it wasn't a problem.
And sometimes, living with others in a dorm for those who come from another area/province, would be helpful.

  • I think it's just like living in university dorms. I've seen a dorm where 4 people shared one room which had a common bathroom in the hallway. A lot of idols who share dorms are usually in high school or university age, so it's not like it would be any better for them if they weren't idols.

I think it was NaSaJiMi in the biggest room. DaChaeTzu in another room and JeongMo in the smallest room.

  • 4 3 2? interesting division of rooms

I guess some rooms are bigger than others...

From what I remembered, it was NaSiJiMi in the biggest room with each member having their own single bed. DaChaeTzu in the second room with 2 in a bunk bed and one with their own single bed. JeongMo in the smallest room and sharing one big bed.

  • I think the most stressful parts would be when the group is new, learning each others habits, and traits and trying to adjust and make things work. I don't expect idols to get along 24/7 but of course things need to be worked out eventually, it would be a nightmare to go on living being angry/ignoring each other. Everyone needs/should set rules and boundaries that everyone agrees with so that it's easier on everyone to adjust to. I am sure after years of being together groups eventually learn to adjust and assuming everyone has a fairly decent relationship it's like living with your best friend constantly. I just hope that the dorms are comfortable, they are eating well, and being taken care of and not living in some bug infested place.

  • I've lived and worked with someone before. It's fine as long as you can talk about your shit and find your own personal time. And I agree that it's not so different from dorms (at one point, I lived, worked and went to school with that person too!) I think the challenge would be as you get older - I think it's probably manageable when you're 18, 19, 20, but by the time you're 26, you're probably over it. Not only do you want your own space, you don't want to have do the roommate negotiation around any private time with your s/o.
