instead of dancing themselves? Like maybe they would do some moves but mostly concentrated on singing?
Would you still like kpop if the groups just used back up dancers?

yep!
-
-
not as much, honestly
dancing is a big part of it for me -
No.
Dancing is a fundamental part of the idol concept.
They are distinct from "singers" or vocalist.
The idea of a multifaceted performer is part and parcel with being an idol.
It wouldn't have the same draw if dancing was eliminated.
That's not to say it has to be technically difficult or of a high level. Just that participation in choreography as a fundamental part of the kpop idol package is hard to remove. It's an integral part. Whether it's "TT" hand gestures to more intricate and demanding dance.
It's part of the package draw.

Yeah
If bts do plan to stay as a grp for a long time, at some point they will have to do that
Nuh uh

In some ways, it would be better to showcase their technique but the choreographies of the idols add a special spice to the performances...like it's something you don't usually see in other industries. Might as well be one of the things that separate a K-POP idol from a Korean pop singer.
But they're my faves, so I would still support them. It just wouldn't be the same.

Nuh uh

Is that future taehyung at a jazz bar

Is that future taehyung at a jazz bar

-
Yes.
Taeil could sit on a chair buttering bread but if he was singing, I don’t even care.
Baekhyun could and did sit on the floor eating strawberries while singing and I didn’t even care.
Chaein could sit on her porch, snapping string beans for dinner, singing and I wouldn’t even care.
Dancing is a great part of the package but not necessary at all.
