she peaked when she was in Cube, both popularity and musically so she hasn't been that relevant lately either way, as for this scandal, i doubt she's gonna be back reputation wise how she was but people forget pretty fast, give them a few months if she break with him and they won't remember

too early to say, Nmixx is barely a 2 years old group and they have no hit, fanbase wise Itzy debuted 5 years ago and Nmixx 2 years ago
Also Nmixx's first day on hanteo for their last album doesn't seam higher than Itzy despite being a lot younger group so i wouldn't say anything until Nmixx is 5 years into their career

aespa wins in bigger YouTube views and ssera with bigger spotify (2-1). but aespa is also superior in album sales. so (3-1).
Sserafim's good luck on the billboard was very good (3-2).

aespa has the weakest youtube views out of the 3, for youtube views it goes like Gidle > LSRF > aespa, aespa also has the weakest spotify streams out of the 3, the album sales is a bit difficult to compare because aespa had 2 comebacks with very different sales while LSRF and Gidle only had 1

That's why I mentioned that I am disappointed that they have been rewarded for their shift to releasing trashy songs.
They used to release songs of such beauty and meaning as Hann, and even when they released songs that weren't shooting for the moon, they were generally always of a certain standard, and didn't trade on crass vulgarity and celebrity trash culture.
They were well regarded and had good but modest tier success while maintaining a respectable and high quality output that made (G)I-DLE one of the most interesting kpop groups who were doing some of the best work in contemporary kpop.
It gave them a certain prestige.
At which point, CUBE and presumably Soyeon, decides to just throw all that well-earned cache away.... and go and release.... "my butt and booty" songs.
And the public rewarded them for it... By making such tripe into smash hits, and giving them the most success and popularity they've ever had.
Yes, they have achieved top tier success recently. But they had to downgrade to do it.
I think they lost something very valuable and special in that process.
They abandoned the standard of excellence they had previously held themselves to, and in particular, they've blemished the legacy and ethos they had built up in the period leading up to and culminating with their magnum opus, Hann.
It's greatly disappointing in my opinion.
(G)I-DLE had a certain magic. And they threw it away.
Hwaa was one of their worst charting songs when it comes to longevity, most of people didn't cared about Hwaa, i swear i heard more people speaking about the song since Tomboy era than when it was released

Simply because neither group released Queencard.
How a group descends from such heights as such inspired and beautiful masterpieces like Hwaa...

One of the biggest disappointments in recent kpop, especially since they have been rewarded for such a fall in standard.
LESSERAFIM, in particular, hit great heights with the emotionally resonant Perfect Night.
On my short list of the best songs of recent kpop.
Queencard was one of most popular songs this year tho, both in korean and internationally, internationally did better than any individual LSRF and aespa songs, in korea did much better than any of LSRF or aespa comebacks during same time, even rigth now look at melon chart and see which one of the april/may songs are higher on chart, even on Gallup was 3rd place (after Seven and one newjeans song)

there was never much hype while the group is active, they got more hype after IVE and Lesserafim success, before it, they were very much fandom based in Korea, somewhere in mid with general public, popular in Japan and not that much internationally

but it’s true, jyp is horrible at managing their girlgroups. they need to branch out and have them make more noise. both itzy and nmixx aren’t even included in the top 4th gen gg discourse and that’s horrible considering itzy was leading the pack at one point…

MAMA, both Gidle and LSRF eat, wished the performances were longer (but in general i think these are the 4th gen top ggs with the best stage presence and just happened to perform at the same show) and the gg collab killed it
Kiss of life did very well in MMA tho, i didn't paid much attention to them but i should do more

So the problem now is that they are making numbers that other top non big4 gg members had like... 2 years before? One that promoted heavily in China, another with big fanbase in Thailand and another that got popularity with K/DA, and on top of that, they opened their ig accounts after 3 years being active and getting hits? That is such a silly expectation when what ppl whine about the most is how the other 4 Ive members barely get any promotion.
Again expecting Ive to do aespa and lsf numbers, big4 ggs, is another stupid expectation and I already said why.

also Gidle during that time were not as popular as today, in the middle of a scandal and didn't sold millions, not sure why are you surprised that people are shocked that the members are pulling smaller numbers, frankly i expected at least 1 mil in 1st day
Actually i think they would ended better if they opened immediately after "After Like", the peak was the highest back then, i think is fine to work from the down to up so overall is not a big issue

I don't see them surpassing BTS, they are still half way and this was their hiatus year as a group while NJ had 2 comebacks and like 6? promoted songs but they will likely surpass BP since i doubt they are gonna have a comeback anytime

most music shows won't close until mid december beside Mcountdown and The Show, i haven't heard about inkigayo closing up yet so if they don't air is probably gonna be a one single week off, they still have music bank and music core and inkigayo also airs this week, maybe YG should put the promos up and let them go to studio choom and NPOP, there are plenty of ways to promote, lets not get into radio shows and things groups normal go
like i said if IVE which debuted in december could find ways to promote and do well, so will Babymonster which debuted from a big 4 company, no less.
