They both debuted as solo artists under JYPE first.

EDIT: Also, there are a number of JYPE 1st-gen (or pre-1st gen artists) that are missing (not that it matters too much, since I doubt anyone in this generation of Kpop fans would know or vote for them):

- Ryang hyun Ryang ha (one of JYPE's earliest boy idol duos, even senior to Rain, precursors to Boy Story)

- Noel (the first boy group (vocal R&B quartet) to debut under JYPE - 2AM's and Day6's great great great seniors)

She saw a news story about an old man who had become a hermit on a mountain out of distrust towards society constantly mistreating him. She took time off her busy idol schedule to trek up the mountain to find him, bringing essential goods and supplies, and spent hours with him, persuading him that not all humans were evil, and helped him rejoin society.

He sent her a message a few months later, thanking her for reaching out to him.

It was one of the first stories I ever read on allkpop, back when the site was still well-managed as a news outlet.

Only half-joking. GOT7 was actually named after g.o.d., and 5LIVE was renamed Day 6 because Korean fans complained that their original name reminded them too much of Maroon 5. Still, the grammatical resemblance (to English-speaking fans, at least) seems uncanny. I'm not aware of the management ever making a statement as to why they followed the same sort of name pattern. (But then again, 2PM and 2AM already existed for several years. JYPE just has a habit of naming their groups with numbers. See also 15&.)

There's a reason why GOT7 and Day6 share a similar name pattern to Maroon 5...

It's been such a great joy to see my first bias return to Korea and meet up with all her old friends and the Wonder Girls members. From saying hi to her former dance choreographer unnie Bae Yoon Jung on the first episode of Mom is an Idol while wowing all the juniors with her skills, to having a dinner date with Yubin, partnering up with her old JYPE fellow artist Byul and working with her old choreographer Lia Kim again, to both Byul and Sunye playfully yelling at 2AM when they found out who was blind-judging their vocals, to even the really old school JYP trainee group (which included Jo Kwon, Sunye and Gina from 99% project) gathering for New Year dinner. Such a blast to have her back in Korea and in the entertainment industry again, even if it's just for a short project.

Also, JYP's loyalty to his "oldest daughters" is always enjoyable to watch. Haha, I still find it hilarious that he forgot the sequence of the hit dance that he choreographed himself.

JYP puts on some of the most interesting collaboration performances I've ever seen.

Yeah, of the three roles that he plays (and has won awards for), I really do think he values the role of singer the most, above producer and composer. The man is 50 years old this year, and still pushing the boundaries of how long a dance singer's lifespan in the industry will be. A true role model for all dance singers (including all idols) for how long their careers can last if they maintain themselves well. (Though I guess the closest person who's paying the most attention would be PSY, since he's also the same kind of artist and only six years younger than JYP.)

EDIT: Fun bit of trivia I just found out when I looked it up. JYP's already surpassed Elvis (died age 42), will overtake Michael Jackson (died age 50) shortly, and is catching up to The Artist Formerly Known as Prince (died age 56) soon. Hoping to see JYP at age 60 still performing as a dance singer on stage.

EDIT: Having shown all that, to answer the OP's question - yes, I still would like the JYP groups to interact more. Especially when they used to have the glorious JYP encore tradition back in the 2nd Gen, amongst the members of 2PM, 2AM and miss A especially. (

) But it's now relatively unlikely that JYP idols would overlap very much in their promotional periods - the company staggers its artists' promotions to not overlap, so they rarely compete on the charts with each other - but that also means that it's very rare to have more than one JYP artist performing simultaneously on music shows, and hence no encore tradition anymore when one of them wins.

Congratulations! It's an incredibly difficult achievement to get. Only five other idol groups (as far as I know) have ever gotten it.

Their senior at JYPE Entertainment, MissA had 3 out of 4 great dancers. And the fourth became a nationally-renowned actress.

I absolutely loved this musical journey through the 4 kpop idol generations! Some gorgeous transitions. You can also see the slow evolution from melody-driven songs to beat-driven songs.

I know this was meant to be funny, but I was legitimately pleasantly surprised when Gaon demonstrated he knew at least the first few moves of the JYP basic dance set.

Technically, the Wonder Girls had 7 members too. Just not all at the same time.

They were close to having one at one point. JYP had prepared an R&B girl group as an answer to YG's Big Mama back in the early days of the 2nd Gen. It contained the members Hyolyn (who later joined SISTAR), Jieun (who eventually joined SECRET), Hani (who joined EXID), and Uji (who joined BESTie). Not sure what happened, and no one's ever talking about it, but their debut got cancelled.

But I'm hopeful that JYPn can give us another taste of R&B, which used to be one of the company's biggest strengths.
