HYYH Pt. 1 would be 2nd to MADE.
It was slow tbh, its not like there were a lot of articles or publications about BTS rising or their achievements. Their growth was more palpable by ARMYs but the fandom was also busy defending BTS from haters. I think fanwars were given more limelight than actual BTS achievements. There was a lot of downplaying and general disbelief (some used to even accuse them of sajaegi and no its not just k-fandoms who did those). Some thought they would just be like other BGs from small companies a quick peak and then decline/enlist then disband.

I'm the opposite, I have zero BTS merch beyond the albums!!!
I used to buy albums from 2nd gen and realized that I dont like collecting albums and I have no passion for display too so I promised myself to only buy albums I would like ( which is most BTS albums). The only pre-order album I recently bought was BE Deluxe. I also only buy merch I know I'll use. I like things that I can use daily.
This things just shows the diversity of personality in the fandom :)

It would be beneficial if they could get better at English
they are trying and have been improving. In SK the only true fluent English speakers are those that study abroad, even the elite students in SK struggle in English because they don't use it often. When they talk with their friends, when they buy things, even when listening to news they listen to it in KOREAN. Even RM who people say is fluent and is a genius admits that he finds it hard to quickly translate Korean to English when he doesnt use it often.
Mastery of a language needs time and constant practice something they cant afford since they need to speak Korean, Japanese, English and even a bit of Chinese for promotions. Whatever level of mastery they reach should already be appreciated because not everyone will be a genius that can speak multiple languages fluently.
Furthermore this user is also criticizing their accents. Do you know how many accents for English there are? There is no ONE standard English accent so to criticize non-native English speaker for their accent is narrow minded and self-centered.

Which English are you talking about OP? American English? UK English? Australian English? Its very self-centered and arrogant to assume just because people around you speak fluent English and learned it when they are young means other people would pick up the language they dont even use in their daily life.
Maybe you yourself try learning a language in between busy schedule with no one to guide you or practice on. Let's see how much better you can do.
P.S. OP, I'm pretty sure BTS and TWICE arent the only groups that promote in the US so why are you singling them out? I mean TWICE doesnt even promote much in the US but you just have to name them. Maybe you should personally reflect on yourself first before you criticize other people.
