Should also be noted that idols aren’t really a big thing in Japan, it’s a very small niche (even though they basically invented the idol system that Korea copied or was heavily inspired by.)

Japan mainstream music has more focus on soloists and bands than anything else.

South Koreans say the same thing about Kpop. International fans tend to forget they are just latching onto a particular scene and not Korean music as a whole.

Japan has a chokehold on the video game industry? Do you live in the 80's? All they have left is Nintendo and a few smaller developers, as Sony abandoned them for that American $$$. And Kpop, while popular, isn't the most successful music industry by a long shot. Japan is still missing out by comparison, and that's because Korea noticed foreigners taking an interest and decided to actually care, unlike the inward-looking Japanese. Still, the Japanese have the 2nd largest domestic music market (behind the US), so they can afford to be that way.

I didn't say it wasn't a black eye. Sometimes a black eye is better than a bullet through the brain. No other company would have even considered making that video. They would have simply fired her all the while throwing her under the bus. Her career would have simply ended in a quiet breeze. Doing what she does now is more detrimental to the CCP than ruining her career could have ever been. And the CCP is to stupid to realize it.

Which JYPE group actively promotes in China? Because unless they actually have good reason to be sucking up to the CCP, firing her was never the only alternative, and would in fact be the least reasonable one of all.

Ok, if JYP has proven anything is that he's good at playing the long game. He doesn't lose his shit from a few bad come backs. He helps his Idols deal with their person struggles, whether it be debilitating anxiety, depression or major neck surgery. Name one other company that wouldn't have tossed Tzuyu out the door for the simple act of having pride in her COUNTRY.

That is a reeeeeeaaaaally bad example. JYPE handled that entire situation horribly and is possibly their biggest black eye as a Kpop company. Name another company that would have forced an idol to shoot a scripted hostage video where she says things about the nature of her country which she clearly does not believe, but had to say it anyway for political brownie points that didn't even pan out, since Twice have never stepped foot in China (or Taiwan for that matter) since. They RUSHED to suck up to China at their employee's personal expense. Saying she would only have had a career in Taiwan if it had been handled differently is complete nonsense. Koreans were not the ones offended, the Chinese were, a country where she has never and will never have a career.

So, it's not his decision solely which OP totally exaggerating things and it's something very stupid to say. People tend to forget or don't know how company work. The decision is not made by one person, they have executive board and shareholders to vote and influence the final say. So to say Jyp will be the downfall of Jype when he's not even the ceo anymore and not the only decision makers in the company is very bold to say.

Different companies work differently in terms of power structure, but why everyone is so quick to assume the company's owner doesn't have a final say in these things is beyond me, like he's just some guy who hangs around for the catering, and the fact that you think they had shareholders vote on this matter really boggles my mind. :|

And FYI, you don't have to be hold a CEO position to wield power within a company. If the CEO and owner/president are different people, the CEO is usually subordinate to the owner/president. In such cases, the big wig has merely appointed someone else to do most of the actual work, not to remove themselves from the top of the company's power structure.

Her private Twitter account was leaked and she has a fan page of a male idol called Younite Kyujmin who used to train with her and Jinni in JYP. Some people are saying that is her rumored boyfriend. She also let her best friend sell unreleased Polaroid of her for hundreds of dollars to capitalize off of fans. It’s such a coincidence that this happened after people were saying that Jinni had something to do with Yoonite Steve. Some people are saying that the controversy involves both Sullyoon and Jinni that’s why JYP deleted both of their videos. What do you guys think of this? Maybe Jinni got photographed so she is the one who has to be let out of the group.

Why would that be justification for kicking out Jinni and not Sullyoon? What does that even accomplish? Whoever supposedly has these supposed photos of Jinni dating could still release them, whether she's in the group or not, which would keep this fiasco in the news cycle long enough to damage the group's reputation (regardless of whether it should) and loom over them like a dark cloud, especially if it becomes known that Sullyoon is doing the same thing. So none of this adds up really. Sounds like fan fiction.

If the polaroid thing is true, that's an extremely cringey "I just became famous" move. You would hope JYPE trained them to know better than that.

Way to go and do the opposite extreme of what you're accusing others of being quick to do. Evidently demonizing a company is bad, but demonizing Jinni is fine.

I think if they treat each other as coworkers, the amount of conflicts in the groups will decrease.

You are alot less likely to offend a coworker personally than a friend.

Trying to keep your distance may result in less drama, but it is also bound to get super awkward considering you have to live with these people and see them all the time. We need to remember that this is not a typical work environment, and so you can't expect them to have typical coworker relationships. Even the idols who don't consider each other friends are still not your typical coworkers. They're something most of us can't fully comprehend, because we don't share their unusual circumstances.

Aespa fans really don't have anything to complain about. They've been super active since debuting, and it's completely unfair to expect an older group that's still successful themselves to just step aside for no real reason. They won't be making such demands of Aespa when SM's next girl group debuts.

I have to agree with the RV fans though. American audiences don't seem to be jibing all that much with Aespa so far. We don't really know how successful RV could be here, but that's because they haven't been given the same opportunities as Aespa. They had one small tour, with no real promotion to speak of, and that was it.

He's just talking up his own favorite (something that's been apparent for a while now), as he obviously thinks very highly of himself, so comparing her to himself is the biggest form of flattery in his mind. There doesn't need to be any actual similarities.
