It's funny right when people told you how to feel. Bts getting bigger and have wider audiences far before Dynamite, Butter and PTD. So, why they still able to get huge fanbase there before all their English released? And at user jt3000 , from your reply I definitely know you're not into your faves group because of their music, because I'm 100% sure you don't speak Korean. And the fact that Kpop is really big in Asian, that don't even speak korean is already the biggest fouls in your statement. I don't remember any kpop groups especially the popular one released anything in Tagalog, Thai, Chinese or Hindi yet their music and influence reach that countries. See how many users from different countries in this forum alone already debunked your claim that music is not universal enough to attract people that don't speak the same language. And you acts like translation is not a thing and we live in 1900 where we don't have this.
Last but not least to you jt3000, don't tell people how to feel. Bts is not known for their visual especially at the beginning of their career. And I solely get into Bts because of their music that I accidentally found and the lyrics just hit me right especially when I was dealing with my mental health problem at that time. I'm not even a fans. So, don't you dare to tell what other should feel when they the one who through that experiences. If you don't feel like music giving you something other than to entertain you, then you do you but there are lot of us that using it as therapy.
I never said you had to understand a song's lyrics to enjoy the music. But if I wanted to listen to something with meaningful lyrics, I'm certainly not listening to a Kpop song, BTS or otherwise. It's amazing what teenagers consider deep.
