That make sense, I really don't think everyone will like the overly experimental kpop sound, Try Taemin and SHINee's music too, if he liked Red Velvet, he'll like SHINee too. I guess he likes music with a more melodic background and tune. You can also try Korean rock bands: Ft Island, Cnblue

Try Txt recent songs. Like the others said Lovesong, Loser Lover, Dear Sputnik. My ex is a rocker and he actually said Dear Sputnik is “not bad”. And he absolutely hates kpop.
