He bought cocaine for himself. He didn't sell it to other people, getting them addicted. He didn't rob people to feed his habit.

If they outlawed alcohol and caffeine, which are considered drugs, tomorrow, lots of us would go to prison, too.

I say good on him for turning his life around and hopefully kicking his self-destructive habit.

Point is I don't think anyone should go to prison for buying and using drugs because all they're doing is harming themselves, no one else. If they have an addiction, they need help. The last thing they need is this stigma placed on them, making them less willing to seek help.

People who sell and distribute should be punished because they're harming other people.

What were we supposed to do with that information now ?

If anything, this is a beautiful success story and should be framed as such. This man made the decision to step away from the entertainment industry to self-reflect and do volunteer work. I'd assume he kicked the habit and decided to pursue bigger and better things.

What we're supposed to "do with this information" is to realize that beauty and fragility of life. This man could have easily continued on a self-destructive path, but he turned his life around. Now he has a #1 song to be proud of while knowing that he's got more to live for.

Kinda reminds me of Eminem, who's been over 10 years sober now. Look at where he's at and all the good he's done for the community.
