Both became popular after queendom. Oh my girl popularity faded very quickly with their contracts nearing their end. Can gidle sustain their popularity longer?
Will Gidle suffer the same fate as Oh my girl?

One underperforming song and Oh My Girl are supposedly done. (G)-idle were supposedly done too after the scandal last year or even after Senorita. Kpop fans are funny.
Oh My Girl gained a loyal fanbase after their breakthrough and their physical sales rose. (G)-idle will be fine too and they haven't hit their peak yet.

Kpop moves very fast and a group needs to get a hit every year or it's bad news and brands will go for them less.

Ask that to Red Velvet or G-(I)dle themselves.

Gidle was doing good before Queendom. They got a boost after it but it wasn't nearly as extreme as Oh My Girl. And as OP said, OMG will be renewing their contracts this years while Gidle still has 3 years left on theirs. They're not in the same situation.
While OMG weren't doing terrible before Queendom the show did save them from being stuck in mid-tier forever. Gidle was already on their way to a successful career and Queendom simply helped them get there.
And Oh My Girl is still popular. One comeback that doesn't turn into a huge hit doesn't change that.

Asking questions is a troll now?
no one in their right mind would call oh my god a flop. They were building a dedicated listener base already. It just took more time for gp to get into them. They hit bigger with dumdi dumdi and then even more with hwaa and finally hit the highest possible peak with tomboy.

That's the thing OMG and gidle were not on the same track. Omg hit big after queendom in Korea while gidle didn't.
Also oh my god was a massive flop in Korea not even 100M gaon points

You need to learn how to look at more than those gao points to justify its a flop. Another Ex: BP Boombayah

Well it's true OMG's last album sales are rather disappointing. But (G)I-DLE never was in the same situation as OMG; they have a solid international fanbase that will prevent them from flopping even if their next comeback is not as strong as TOMBOY on Korean charts.

It's clear Oh my god was too bold to have a huge appeal for the gp but it did wonders to showcase their uniqueness and the kind of artists they are. It's not all about scoring numbers.
