I've been to multiple barbecues where burgers and hot dogs have been served and pretty much everyone always goes for a burger over a hot dog and quite often there are sausages left over because no one wants them. But for they are better on multiple levels.

1. They are easier to eat as they are narrow so fit in the mouth easier.
2. They are often much less messy than burgers.
3. I think they taste much better.

I should also note that when I say hot dog, I mean using actual sausages rather than the American ones you get in hot dog carts.
