I think if SM can get another boygroup as big as EXO was in Korea with a popular foreign line, they would have the best chance...if they can stay out of controversy long enough.

Unfortunately, there are no wholly beloved foreign idols in Korea for them to do well in a solo career. Sana and Tzuyu were well loved, but I don't know how a solo would work for them. Koreans won't support a solo artist unless they legitimately make great music. Even Suzy's solo career has been stagnant, and she's practically a national icon at this point.

So, it will take a combination of insane popularity and music catered to Korean taste for any hopes of a foreign idol making it where you are talking.
