Which kpop comebacks were the most hyped by everyone?

SNSD's Mr.Mr. It was supposed to be a return to their style that made them a smash success along the lines of Gee and Genie, and SME even delayed the MV to make sure it was perfect. I remember there was a lot of interest and excitement from that time, especially from newer kpop fans who missed out on the big releases from SNSD's earlier years.

Lovesick Girls before the song was released. Blackpink full album was anticipated by everyone and their mothers, 5 fkin years of being active before getting a full album lol.

Big Bang Made album was also huge for a grand comeback but I think their comeback in 2022 will be even more hyped because the hiatus will be way longer

Armys are starved

All BTS comebacks were hyped but I remember when Idol was to be released, everyone was talking about it, in kpop and in the west. You see BTS was at the cusp of really being a global superpower at that point and they were on a high after Fake Love. The antis were so hell bent on pulling them back into the kpop bucket, western medias want them to fizzle out and to be called a temporary trend, fans were excited to see the next chapter.. it was crazy especially after the Idol teaser was released lol. So many think pieces after that teaser.. yeah it was anticipated by many.. And still many think pieces AFTER the MV was released lol. Fake Love was anticipated too because ARMy was starved and they came back on American soil (first time ever for a kpop group). But I feel Idol’s CB was crazier..

Another one that I felt was crazily anticipated was BP’s DDD.

2018 was that year. Or maybe because I was new that time and everything was heightened for me lol

May 21: They won TSA at the BBMAs and the kpop world exploded with congratulations and think pieces alike. What did that win spell for Kpop in the Western world? For as much support and positivity, there was doubt, skepticism, and outright hate for BTS running rampant as well. But BTS stayed on everyone's mind for sure.

Aug 18: BTS drops the Love Yourself Highlight reel after a bunch of teaser posters and shit hit the fan with theories galore.

Sep 3: News drops that BTS is the first group to ever hit 1M preorders, and that either gets people mad or excited.

Sep 7: Serendipity trailer drops, people go crazy over it.

Sep 14: DNA teaser 1 (reactions to this go up almost immediately, people freak the fuck out over JK's hair and whistling)

Sep 15: DNA teaser 2 (this was smart as hell, releasing the teasers so close to each other)

Sep 18: DNA, one of the most iconic kpop songs drops. Immediately goes semi viral on YT and is an instant hit in Korea. HER also becomes the highest charting kpop album on BB200 at the time.

Nov 19: BTS' first live US performance at the AMAs.

Nov 24: Mic Drop Remix drops less than a week after AMAs, BTS is still trendy and this just adds to the hype.
