I'm surprised about Aespa. I thought male fans would flock to Aespa's visuals. Maybe this shows that concepts actually matter with respect to which gender a group appeals to. Aespa's hardcore girl crush aesthetic could be turning off some prospective male fans.

I think it's likely that they have /more/ female fans than average rather than /less/ male fans than average, if that makes sense. I'm not on twt anymore but if reddit is any indicator men definitely like them especially Karina lmao

Karina has a lot of fangirls, she's too intimidating for men. Winter is the one with a bunch of fanboys because of her cuteness.

Kinda surprised bp is that low, they r usually the main example for more female fans

StayC was surprising, especially how extreme their ratio was.

But what's even more surprising for me is Ive. Only 33 percent male, while Izone, Eunbi, Hyewon and Yuri all were from 57 to 80 percent male! I cant imagine someone like Wonyoung not appealing to male fans in Korea.

I mean you have to think the first impression is from performances, mv or some content and karina wears heavy make-up for all that and she looks intimidating there, once you follow aespa you know her more you realize she's a sweetheart but she can look a bit intimidating by her looks.

Karina: Fangirls, especially rich ones

Winter: Fanboys (and girls but probably the one with the most boy fans)

Ningning: More fangirls but also a decent amount of fanboys (probably more international fanboys)

Giselle: Fangirls for sure from the start.

One other thing that's crystal clear is that fangirls buy albums, fanboys dont. With the sole exception of Izone of course, those rich uncle fans sure do love this group and the individual members lol.

Just look at the album sales of the groups at the top that are above the redline versus the groups at the bottom with the most fangirls.

I actually think for Karina she's more of the type of idol others want to emulate, more than being intimidating, so more female fans follow her. Like I'll give Krystal as an example. A TON of (rich) female fans which is why her stuff costs so much.

Maknae line def have more fanboys.
