I've said this a few times myself.
They outsell almost every k-pop act out there,yet nobody outside of their fandom seems to talk about them.It's as if they're one enormous niche.
just my personal opinion but i feel like it's has something to do with age demographics of carats, although i know a lot of carats in their teens, more of them are mostly adults in their 20s, working so they have money to support svt's sales/concerts, but of course less time to be invested in social media, and of course the fandom is big itself so the streams from spotify comes in naturally(just my 2 cents but honestly i don't think our fandom is that interested at voting or mass streaming, idk why but like most of us will stream only when we want to lol, which explains how streams is a good indicator on how much carats like each song) and i guess k-carats are pretty large so they can carry kr charts well
Well SEVENTEEN don’t have high youtube views so they are flops /j
People saying is because Carats aren’t loud about their achievements is the reason but I think is not because UEANAs don’t go around bragging about IU and everybody knows her achievements and how big she is. It is just that kpop stans choose to just not acknowledge the boys for some reason I don’t know.
Because carats don't go rubbing SVT's success into everyone faces everyday in AKP
This tbh. I think you just have to look in the right places to see how popular they are but you can't deny that they are huge.
I don't know this group well. Recommend me an album please 
because they're a fanbase driven group, they don't have the appeal needed to intrigue the gp and casual listeners mainly because of the number of members
also the huge number of members means they don't get to shine individually. they do have popular ones like vernon and dk but none of them is the "it" member that goes viral and spikes interest in the group. i can't remember a single time a seventeen member has done something trend worthy except when one of them was accused of bullying... none of them gets campaigns, none of them has a solo (and even if they have it obviously hasn't made much noise), their songs aren't charting exceptionally high for people to say "oh they seem interesting let me check them out" and etc...
it isn't necessarily bad tho, they have their community which likes them and supports them and that's totally fine. i don't see why the whole kpop world needs to be talking about someone 24/7 in order the group to be considered successful

Putting iu and seventeen in the same parallel its just absurd
she is korea BIGGEST SOLOIST, seventeen isn't the biggest in anything, they place 2 or maybe 3r in many areas and people just don't talk about u unless you're n1 or the absolute worst

I think they are fifth biggest kpop group in 3rd generation overall
