Can you imagine unstanning your faves someday?

  • Unstanning probably not unless there is some huge big fuck up.

Follow them less maybe depends. Like until now I still consider myself a Sistar stan who is my first ever KPOP group that I really stan, but I don't follow them as closely because they disbanded but I still consider myself a stan of the group.

As of now my current ult is Day6 and I don't see myself unstanning Day6. Follow them less maybe because they will slowly enlist all except Jae but I'll be back whenever they are ready to be back as OT5

    :pepelove2::pepelove2:

And since you mention western artists, yes I still listen to Mariah Carey and Avril Lavigne sunbaenims

  • I dont think it would be a problem for me. My life would still go on as usual. In fact, Ive done it. And I thought the day would never come. But unfortunately it did.

I think fromis_9 is the group i am attached to the most out of all the groups Ive stanned. And I think the day when I unstan them would definitely come. :-)

  • I know some people have different definition when it comes to stanning vs. just being a fan, but I can definitely see myself still listening to my faves and even songs by my non-faves for years to come. I may not follow them as closely later in their career, especially when they're all doing their own thing, but I will still cherish them.

I still listen to artists I love as a kid, a teen, and a young adult. I even check out their newer stuff from time to time even though I'm not as much of a fan of it as I was in the past. I even still keep an eye on the j-rock bands I loved in my early 20s. I even tried to go and see the Backstreet Boys documentary in theaters when it came out (but it's good I didn't because I don't like crying in public).

  • At the moment, no. When you are too attracted you can't see yourself losing interest, because the feeling you have right now its the only one you know, but you are not sure how you might be feeling in the future.

The longest I've been a fan of someone is Taylor Swift. I stan since I was between 12-13 years old and It was around 2008-2009. I still don't see myself unstanning her. So I hope I keep the same feeling towards my K-pop faves.

  • What could make u lose interest? Different musical direction? A member leaving? Songs u don't like?

I am just being curious here

i could lose interest for very strange reasons lol, i lost interest in my first ult bc i had such a bad time at their concert. doing illegal stuff is an immediate turn off, even if its only 1 member. i feel like huge changes in music direction that i don't like would be a big cause for losing interest since kpop is still essentially music

I still don't get how u stan all those groups bestie u have a big heart and incredible energy .

Genuine question though, taylor swift is also still very relevant today, would it have been harder stanning her if she didn't make as much music each year?

Interesting thing abt the concert :eyes:

As for musical direction , i mean there are songs that i disliked by BTS lately but i guess other songs are always there so i can always focus on those.

But i get what u mean.

  • Not really, I have this weird attachment to music. If I love a song, my opinion on it wouldn't probably change regardless if I still listen to that artist or not. I've had several music phases in my life and despite growing out of them, I still check some of the artists from time to time to see what music they have released. BTS are probably one of the only few artists I made an effort to learn more about them outside of their music career, and maybe there will be a time where I won't be as up to date but my love for their songs will still remain.

  • Hmm my first thought was no, but now that I think of it, I was a huge Selena Gomez fan and she never did something big, but all the mess of her relationship with Justin made me less interested in her, and at that time (2012) I became a SNSD fan. Selena still holds a special place in my heart, and I'm always happy to see that she's achieving big things and get annoyed when someone drag her.

So yes, I see me unstanning my faves, but it would take some years and I wouldn't erase them of my life, each one of my faves represent precious memories.

I don't think so. Of course, she will stop releasing as many albums as she has been in the last 2 years, because It's not normal, lmao. But I don't see she becoming very inactive anytime soon, since music is basically the air she breathes.

The time when music won't be one of her priorities anymore will come... but when it comes, I won't be in my 20s anymore too. I won't be in the beginning of my career where I have more free time than I will be when I become more stabilized. I won't have to spend time just for me and my mother, because I want to have my own family. So I wouldn't be able to follow her being very active anyway.

What would make me unstan is that If she did some serious shit that go against my morals and If I completely lost interest in her work.

Yeah stanning and liking someone's music is very different so i get it

  • Probably some day. I've gotten to the point where I don't really pay that much attention to variety shows/tv appearances so it really is just music and interviews that keeps me connected with my faves.

As far as kpop goes, the main way for me to unstan is going the actress route or making music I don't really care for. sometimes my music tastes evolve in a really weird way.

But I don't really view it in a bad way, it's a part of life. The nostalgic feeling of putting on an old song and falling in love with it like the first time is great.

  • Interesting thing abt the concert :eyes:

it's kinda like, kpop is exciting bc we have a lot things to look forward to. although the old songs are still there, if there becomes a trend of them releasing multiple music i don't like, there will be that lack of excitement while waiting for new music, which i guess will be a problem for me

  • Well, yeah, I definitely can imagine it. Quality of music is a huge factor: BTS has been doing such a shitty music lately, like almost no quality is left and I like maybe only 10-20% of songs they released in latest years, so I am already not so into them anymore (like I don't want to go on their concert full of dislikable songs or I don't even think about buying, more to say pre-order, album cause I don't trust their music) + there are other issues I see in them and bighit, so if they will continue this path then, yeah, it will be the end. But also it's kinda hard to call it an end cause I still love Run, I watch it just like I watch any other Korean show I like and I will continue to watch it) Also there is Hoseok and his amazing music and he will definitely deliver even more so I will still follow him anyway. Plus Namgi cause they also are capable of doing good music. Kinda like this, an end but not really an end lol Also that new era of them getting individual accounts kinda intrigues me and indeed looks like smth fresh and, hopefully, smth leading to smth different.

  • Fully unstanning...no

    Following less...yes

I got into kpop in 2019 with Boy with Love so BTS holds a special place in my heart. I don't see myself unstanning them. Have I been constantly watching them like I did in 2019 and 2020? No. I grew up and have life happening. However, during breaks I try to get caught up on content and stream MVs. If they have a comeback when I'm free I'll stream on Youtube and Spotify. If I'm busy then I'll listen to their album when I have the change.

The other group I stan are Shinee and soloist Jaejoong. Them....maybe. I used to stan BP until the end of 2019. They just didn't have enough music and content to keep me interested. I can see that with Shinee and Jaejoong though I would still keep up with new music just like BP.

If I say anything incorrect please correct me and I will edit my comment accordingly. I'm also very sarcastic so please don't take anything I say to heart.

  • there are groups i used to follow very close, and listen to every day. But then they stoped doing music or doing relevant music to my liking. I didn`t unstanned, i still listen to them from time to time. But i found out other interesting music to listen to, and orbitated that way

did blackpink release a new album today?'s tweet - "#LALISA ACAB, aquí solo respetamos a la POLISA " - TrendsmapID BI****S

    OT4 BLINKS OR JAIL

  • Yeah I can see myself doing that. I do love and respect BTS a lot but at the end of the day I only love what I see and hear. Idk if that is their true selves or not. Maybe I’m being paranoid but if I see them involved in any acts that goes against my morals or what I believe in, I will unstan them without a 2nd thought.

But so far with the way things are going I think I’ll stan them for a long time. I mean I may be less enthusiastic about keeping up with them up as time goes due to life, but I bet you are gonna see me fighting for concert tickets when they go on tour

Please do yourself a favor and unstan them. You sound miserable honestly

  • Like completely avoiding their content and songs over night? Not at all. Gradually losing interest and just checking up time to time? Yeah that’s completely normal. Comebacks are fun to participate and stuff, discussing with people trying to break records but unless you have a backup it’s completely impossible to live all your life like that. And just because you’re not actively on the fandom it doesn’t mean you can’t go to concerts, buy merch etc
