Sakura is more popular than both itzy and izone members but Itzy were bigger in Japan even if izone were selling well here they didn’t have the GP behind them like itzy had.
I’m not surprised they charted well in Japan but they are doing better than itzy this year. Let’s see if they will keep the momentum.

Japanese member isn’t the only factor but it helps, the song is obviously pretty good and the usual IZONE type
Rei isn’t the most popular member of IVE in Japan , or known in Japan at all she just debuted . Idk why Kpop fans assume japanese members automatically bring popularity when it’s not true she barely has a fan base so far . Having one JP member, a rookie at that won’t make you climb the charts
Hitomi and Nako were not popular in Iz*one or even with the GP , in fact they were at the bottom of the Iz*one popularity ranking in Japan
Sakura is big but I hope you realize her fans don’t gaf about IVE they didn’t even want to support Iz*one and most boycotted, they wouldn’t support another member’s group 😭😭😭
