It's not me trying to interrupt the peace, it's me giving my honest opinion on this. I just think wedding isn't the most appropriate thing even as a joke. If you guys want to do a different ceremony, then go ahead! You're a kid so I don't expect you to see my problem yet but I strongly suggest not doing a wedding or anything with romantic implications such as that, even as fun on a forum. It's just not appropriate

Oh no, don't get me wrong! I'm not trying to call you stupid or put you down. I think at 13 we're already very smart, but we also just don't understand how young we are. Being a kid limits your view on these kind of things because you don't realize your own age so it's just a case of age and experience which helps perspective on this. Me and most people at 13 would've reacted the same way

Ok, good to hear. I would still suggest changing the thread/ceremony to "friendship ceremony" or something of the sort but if everyone else is fine, I can't do anything about that. Maybe AKP could also put a rule on adult/minor combos not being allowed to marry in the future?

Even if no harm is meant and reason temporarily left the adult man, this is not a good look on AKP either, considering the combination of young and adult users here and potential ramifications to those who may use this example with less innocent reasons: “Oh so and so did it, so it’s fine.”

EDITED TO ADD: I read further in the thread to see she agrees to a friendship thing. I agree with changing the title of the thread here.

To add onto this, I also think mods should consider removing private messaging as much as that might upset some people. Websites like these hold too much potential for dangerous situation for minors as there's a wide range of ages interacting on here. Private messages are fun and all but we also should consider the possible dangers of allowing random adults and kids communicate privately with no one around to monitor. When your forum ranges from ages of 13-50, you have to take the necessary precautions and this might be one of them

Just want to clarify that I am not trying to imply anything about any users right now

With this, I hope having to openly ask to private communicate would deter the majority of adults with bad intentions

It's just the safest route in my opinion. Remove private messaging and make it so people have to publicize that they are privately communicating. It can call other users to potentially dangerous situations and also just stop them in the first place

I think this type of thread may not be the place for discussion of widespread changes to the forum. I'd bring it up in the Ask A Staff thread, or as a separate post in that section.

That's fair enough, even though it might be a lot of work for mods perhaps we could also make it so it's only possible to open a private message by asking a mod first? Though I doubt it would happen and I have no interest in being an actual mod, I'd be willing to help if we were to do that and it was a problem of not having enough people. I'm sure there are other users who wouldn't mind too

I just think with such a wide range of ages, it's best to be safe than sorry
