As a kid, I used to eat cereal with orange juice instead of milk. Though that was mostly because I was lactose intolerant then.

I still like Cheerios with orange juice from time to time, because I got used to it.

My only other options were dry cereal, or water (especially since I had a sensitivity to soy as well). So I chose orange juice.

The only alternative in my area when I was growing up was soy milk, which caused other problems for me. The 90s were a very different time, without all the special, extra, different foods.
