To be honest, they still have a long way to go. A few lyrics credits is a good start but there's nothing groundbreaking. Lots of gg members have some lyrics credits here and there. But composition or production credits? Now that's another story.

I am not a blink but I will say this again. YOU HAVE TO APPRECIATE THEIR WORK ETHIC. They may not have gotten to include as many songs on "The Album" as they would like, they also had to fight to even put out that album. Their releases are very limited but as we have seen in their interviews, they have fought with YG to try to change this as much as possible. They are trying very hard to work as hard as possible for their fans and their company has blocked them at many turns.

Agreed. I love the girls but this isn’t anything big as the OP makes it seem. YG seems to give more freedom to their artists. Whether the girls write or not it shouldn’t matter for the most part because they don’t have to, they’re idols not producers. The issue usually rises when people say Lisa/Jennie are idol rappers not “real rappers”. Of which i agree, nor do I understand why blinks get mad about it because there’s nothing wrong with being an idol rapper.

It was weird to see her flex her covers. Maybe she wanted to prove a point but it was awkward to me nevertheless because she has a lot of other things to flex about. In general it felt a little awkward both in the verses content and the flow. But she looked gorgeous.

I don’t understand why idols are dragged for not writing songs, I know BP write but even if they didn’t why is it such a big deal anyways lol 90% of groups aren’t allowed anywhere near their material, even in the western music industry a lot of singers don’t write their own music so why is it such a big issue

Twice and BP are my bias groups and two members of BP have been allowed to help write their most recent title track whereas Twice have only been allowed to write B-sides so far, I mean BP only release like 2 songs a year usually I can see why maybe they’d pick songs made by a reputable producer because of their ‘quality’ reasoning
(Not saying BP can’t write quality because we all saw LSG and Gone and they are ART)
