Do you make judgements on people and their morals/personalities based on their comments on AKP?
Can you tell what someone is like just based on their comments on a kpop site?
-
-
Yes, it's easy to spot the mysogynistic users especially.
-
Well there's a reason why the term "online persona" exists. It's very easy to fake your identity as an anonymous person. Might as well act like a completely different human being than what they are like irl. You can draw conclusions about someone's personality based on their online interactions, but it's better to be aware that not everyone is gonna be honest about their real feelings online.
-
You can absolutely tell what someone is like just by the words they type, those with misogynistic and backwards views on the world can’t help but show their incel mentality and it’s something they feel proud of. They’ll always say something along the lines of ‘they don’t follow or go along with the crowd’ aka the sane people with morals and that makes them feel special.
-
Yesterday on another thread, we could spot the misogynistic and fake feminist users. I don’t know if that’s their whole personality in the physical world but in this social world, that’s what I will consider them as when I see them

I'm still mad that thread got closed I feel sorry for other users who didn't read it and don't know the type of comments that were said. Disgusting really

The main page has a similar thread and we can see the same behaviour from the same users there too.

gross...I guess I'm thankful in a weird way now I know who to avoid
-
i find that people are more honest on these sites than irl soooo
defo agree the internet brings out the worst in some people and tbh if they act like trash online then they're probably like that in real life but they just hide it

Did you see the comments?
-
-
Usually I dont but if the said person is a troll, I do try to observe the patterns of their troll comebacks.
-
Did you see the comments?
which thread the deleted one? saw that and I think that thread proved that you can tell what people are like via their comments
-
We are way more honest on online forums than irl tbh.. The only answer to this is a double-sided persona.
-
It’s very easy to spot the bigots. In fact bigotry is displayed easily when ppl are anonymous. It’s harder in IRL cuz people mask it better.
However the other way is harder. It’s hard to pass positive judgement on ppl cuz there are a lot of keyboard warriors.
So basically it’s easy to identify the bad apples but more difficult to make judgment on people’s goodness or intentions.
-
How everybody here mention they can spot negative people, but nobody mention they can spot positive people.

well after what happened yesterday I trust no one lol some people whose comments I don't usually have much of an issue with showed their true colors

Because you can lie about being good.
There is no point or motivation in lying about being bad.

Deleted one.

Only half true, I think.
There have been enough examples in K-pop where comments and actions of for example idols have been taken so far out of context or onesidedly exaggerated, that those idols were painted as sheer villains by witch hunting netizen (and ifan) lynch mobs.
As an example of how someone's comments online can also be distorted and misused by others to villainize or demonize that person, and not as a fair, true representation of that person at all.
-
What if you are tsundere
-
what if you are gemini
-
What if you are tsundere
Tsundre is not bigotry it’s just speaking harshly 10/10 I love tsundre who lay it straight

That’s your inability to spot the truth maybe. Or if you’re swayed by others opinion.
I’m talking about my personal interaction with ppl not second hand accounts.
-
you can tell I have a bomb ass personality from my online persona even though I don't have a bomb ass irl
-
I think some users might have misinterpreted the thread title. I'm talking about users on AKP and your interaction with them, the comments they make etc not random internet comments from kpop artists you've never interacted with
-
Thanks to a certain thread i could see who's a good person and who's not

Ah, my mistake. I thought it was meant in general.
-
Besides the worst of the worst saying blatantly sexist, racist etc things, I think almost anyone can post something negative on the internet at some point so not really. I feel like I'd get along with most people here irl even if they drag my faves
-
Varies. But sometimes yeah, especially the most toxic and morally jaded users on here.
But as someone mentioned on here, the goody two shoes can also just be putting up a front so- it's easy to fabricate things online I imagine.
I have yet to come across a goody two shoes user who is always overly fake nice lmao I need to start paying attention more
-
Since the forum is anonymous it's easier to spot racists, xenophobes, haters and so on.
Because in real life they won't say the same shit because they would get canned from their job or banned from colleges etc.
I for one am exactly the same both here and in real life.
A sarcastic old bastard.
-
Yeah… and you can spot bullies pretty well too !
Anyway apart from that, what’s written can easily be misinterpreted or distorted especially in a heated debate! It’s even worse for people who have to debate in a different language than what they usually use and got to find the better fitting words.
Also half of the information while communicating through text not is gone missing.
Also what people most likely get to see a glimpse of is the mindset of someone, and since everyone has a different upbringing, education etc… opinions won’t always be the same. Intentions mean more than words. Is someone saying something out of malice or lack of knowledge towards a specific topic or just have a different mindset due to their upbringing? Are their intentions bad ? You can’t really tell someone’s intentions. Anyway You can change a mindset with good discussions, but not really a personality.
So I personally judge people on the internet based on how they engage with others, are they respectful or do they have a tendency to be hostile and entitled. I think how someone treats others says more about their personality than typed words.

I AM LOST

nah, some thread about Seungri got heated and some people started fighting with each other.
Some were using some really nasty words.
It got handled eventually.

If someone grows up with privilege, they will have a privileged point of view. They can still learn, but their baseline world view comes from privilege. I'm one of the "luckier" ones myself btw.
Yes, this is a comment about yesterday's thread. I read it on a device I use to lurk.
-
I think when in a forum such as this, people are more themselves because they're anonymous. Except if you're a pedo, scammer out to victimise someone or something
