Did SVT have a potential to be BTS' rival?

I think it's better if we leave Seventeen out of 'rival' conversations. They arent rivals with anyone, and are pretty much doing there own thing.

Why do groups have to have rivals? Sometimes groups can just co-exist lol

I am in the school that rivalries in KPop is just time consuming, energy depleting exercise which lead to no good outcome.

GFriend menacing Twice's way led Twice fall short of its ambitions.

The many rivalries in KPop, like Wonder Girls - SNSD, BTS-EXO and Twice-BlackPink ended only when one side became too exhausted to continue the rivalry, and because BTS spent so many years fighting EXO, it is in its 9th year and only after they had shaken off the last of their rivals they could advance.

If SVT had continued to be a thorn at the side, BTS would have to deal with them sooner or later, and Hitman Bang buying Pledis ended that.

SVT debuted in 2015, and it didn't really owe too much to Pledis, but because of the contracts it no longer has any possibility of threatening BTS. Hitman Bang understood that rivals only sap your energy.

Good one. Sorry just been laughing at that for the last 2 minutes. Back to the topic at hand, SVT had their number of members to consider plus before the genre change, the bubbly songs. They were at a disadvantage. Even people to this day think 2 more members than the typical western bg of 5 is too much (referring to BTS having 7 members.)

I don't read fanfiction. I have not read even 1 till this day. I wrote many articles but keep myself away from fanfiction cause fantasizing about people with illusion who exist in real life doesn't make sense to me. But I don't discourage others as it is their own life.

But after a certain age, people should stop doing it, according to me as they drive delusional to differentiate between Reality & illusion Which is not good for brain.

In fact, the opinion that she can significantly control the direction of the industry, is actually a compliment.

Seventeen had a shot at challenging BTS in Japan and China. But Korea, SEA, US and Europe belong to BTS.

17 only has gaon physicals tho

Short answer - No.

As long as the rivalry makes your performances better, I don't mind them. lol. I genuinely think that K-pop is the music genre that it brings up lots of rivals. Of course, this is something that is happening in absolutely all industries, but when it comes to K-POP there is nothing that could beat it. I stronly believe that SVT has lots of potentials. And this will be obvious very soon to everyone! BTS is not bad as well, but you cannot be the only one on the top for a long time. Eventually, people will get bored of listening to only BTS.
