For me there is a difference since they look more mature in Luv compared to NoNoNo or Mr Chu. It was still a cute concept but in a more mature sense. Not that highschool/teenage cuteness or that ultra innocent concept.

Twice also had a big leap with concept if we compare more & more with I can’t stop me. It was for me more drastic than Apink

To add to this debate: I'd love if TWICE got any of A Pink's songs both pre and post change

Even thought I haven't liked their past 2 comebacks I would say they have done it very smoothly not only music wise but also in their concept. It makes me wonder what they will do this year and I hope I like their new comebacks more than M&M and ICSM. I wish they did something like Breakthrough, Break and Through or Better for Korean comebacks too

I would also have to say G-Friend did it in a very nice way. Not only have they been changing their sound at a steady pace but they also made a story to explain why their concept change. They may not have been the 1st group to do it but they are the 1st group I have seen to have some kind of lore behind their concept change. Just like the lyrics from M&M and ICSM they also talked about the struggles of concept change in their lyrics in Apple and Mago

switching just btw 2 styles like bp and rv do for the most part is not concept switching like mamamoo and gidle do

They do? Other groups have had drastic or very contrasting changes and in some cases found greater success than previous iterations

Girls day started of cute then did sexy and exploded in popularity and some with sistar helped shift kpop into a sexy phase

Apink were once THE cute gg but in recent times have revamped themselves

WG became an actual band

SNSD changed concept more or less every CB to the point that became their overall concept

Still, thrice, who challenges concept change for Twice, are not satisfied. Because Twice not flopping like they said Twice will if change concept

100% agree - pulled it off so smoothly as well

I think they are on par with GFriend and apink

I so agree! It's so smooth. They didn't just like immediately switch from cute to mature, they did Fancy which was like a bridge and was both! The reason they did it is because all the members said they didn't want it for much longer because they might get tired of it. It really shows that they transitioned into being young adults to actual adults, everyone in Twice now is over the age of 18 when only Nayeon was older than 18.

Wow I can't believe it, Twice was like teenagers when they debuted ranging from 15 - 20

when come to smooth and successful transition, Apink comes to mind
