I don't think so. Being the most popular act of the genre, even by a large margin, doesn't make you bigger than the genre itself in my opinion. Metallica is not bigger than the heavy metal genre even though their reach goes beyond the core metal audience.

Now if the k-pop trend dies out completely after BTS disbands, then you will have a point. If BTS members make a breakthrough in other fields of the entertainement world (movies, novels...) then you will have a point. But for the moment they're "only" very successful idols who make very popular music.

Well considering the fact that almost everyone in the music world knows BTS. Most likely yes. I feel like people still know them as kpop but just only know them or Blackpink along with them. So probably.

Also I've always hated this question. It's so vague and stupid. How on earth do you compare an industry with an artist part of that industry? Google Search Trends? why would people just look up kpop tho, they are also looking up just individual artists. You can't compare sales either, there are so many groups in said industry. idk what you want, to go up to random people around the world and poll them about what kpop is, and what bts is?

I think it is more like the gifted programs. BTS is in the gifted program and still scores very well.

I think what they are trying to say is if BTS is more famous than kpop. I feel like when you compare to other groups then yes. But most people know them as a kpop group. So no at the same time. This is confusing.

Hogan turning heel didn't help as much as being babyface did. Hollywood hogan, imo, helped him the most.

People know Sting, Goldberg too especially during their stints in WCW, doesn't mean they are bigger than Pro Wrestling.

Hogan was as big as the next biggest thing like Stone Cold, HHH, Undertaker etc.

There are only 5-6 wrestlers who have been bigger than Pro Wrestling itself.... Hogan ain't one of them sadly. But he is definitely the biggest after those 5-6 people.

yeah that's my point. How on earth do you decide how large an industry/genre is? by how large their most popular group? do you take the mean? Median? Largest company? And then you hit the fact that they are a kpop group. It's not a logical question.

Even the examples op chose, John Cena and Dwayne Johnson are still known for their wrestling. Almost everyone knows that they were wrestlers. So this is really confusing. The more you think about it the more confusing it gets.
