iZone was 3rd gen

I don't even think we're in 4th gen yet.
The impetus to mark a graduation is the supposed international focus of new groups.
But that began with 3rd gen. Most prominently with BTS.
And top contenders of 3rd gen are still largely going strong.
If anything this new wave of rookies would be considered 3.5 in my mind if we're going to differentiate.
I consider IZONE clearly 3rd gen.

because they debuted when 4th gen already debuted -___-

Actually they are 2nd Gen. They disbanded before second gen groups like Brave Girls disband, and 2nd Gen groups like Brave Girls are just starting their careers.
I think IZ*ONE is 2nd Gen. 3rd gen haven't even started yet we need to wait for 2nd Gen groups to flop and disband first for the new era to come.

Most of groups we call 4th gen are called like that because they will outlive current 3rd gen groups, so when 3rd gen groups those new groups will still going around
Not the case of iZone. Calling iZone 4th gen is the same of calling Wanna One 4th gen and nobody does that

Even Korean's can't decide if it's 4th generation yet.
The accepted consensus, from what I've seen, is we're not out of 3rd gen and it's still in an awkward position of transitioning.
Groups like IzOne, TXT, Itzy, Idle, etc are 100% not 4th generation, at this point they are 2-3 years old and failed to make an impact or stamp on the generation in the same way Exo, Twice, BlackPink, Gfriend, BTS, etc did in 2015 and 2016 and really leave no debate about it.
Right now we're looking more at groups like Aespa, Weekly, StayC, etc to see if they can do that in the coming year or 2.

And what have this to do with my point?
SM released TVXQ, then Super Junior, then Shinee. Is TVXQ 2nd gen, Suju 3rd gen, Shinee 4th gen and EXO... 5th gen?
Great to know EXO is the best selling 5th gen group
