in the end everything will be forgotten, no one will remember this stupid fan statistics about Youtube Views , Spotify Numbers or charts ....

  • what remains is only good music, which you will listen again and again after several years.

(it is not good if after a song there are only statistics left, and not the people who listen to this Song)

this is art. REAL Music from REAL world .

sadly there are no adult men in kpop anymore, only a general innocence and boredom far and wide.

  • I can't remember how much any of SJ's albums sold but I remember all of their discography and random trivia about songs and performances that happened a decade ago

  • true

my faves are just two years into their career and their music is so promising. can’t wait to see what else they pull off :peperich: :pepe-cowboy:

who are your fav ? TXT ?

well..... big hit has already started to work on their voices ( I mean autotune ) all they need is pink suits and they are ready for innocence and boredom.

god save kpop from autotune and cheap visuals !!! :saint:

  • Lets see who out of kpop can match the longevity of Beatles, Queen and all the other legends still being most listened to groups after BTS. Or even jpop groups like SMAP and Arashi. Or impact of Seo Taiji.

I do agree that artistry will win out in the end and time will tell. And cultural impact. Most of the major artists who are remembered have been tied to societal changes and bigger movements. Now is too early for kpop though. Lets see in 10-20 years.

I am sure Spring Day will be remembered, it still hasnt become dated and still resonates with people.

  • Yes there are still adult men in kpop releasing songs, "real" music about "real world" topics, and since you posted sad songs, I suppose that's what you consider to be "real"

Loss and loneliness and anger and other such concepts are still in kpop outside your favourite group

    In some prominent acts too

I can make you list of examples if you don't believe me

Edited 2 times, last by Queeeenie ().

  • maybe only SP. day . but I Would say Fire from BTS .

sorry I dont like their music. special their last works.

I dont really understand their map soul something and all that stuff. so i won't talk here about what i am not interested or enjoy.

  • Your post at the beginning was very cliché (what's real music, with real instruments or basically what your faves put out) but there was some truth in it.

Now you just sound like a troll, with or without that joking emoji :pepe-toilet:

Well. A lot of the legendary, most critically acclaimed albums, still being purchased decades later by younger generations, are concept albums like BTS's album series. Especially MOTS7 is a very thematically coherent one.

Even if some people cannot appreciate them, Koreans clearly do and so do global music critics.

Theres a reason so many people fall in love with BTS's music, newer and older.

  • well i don’t really blame you. never expected vips to show maturity towards a completely innocent reply!!!

let’s work towards clearing seugris name yeah? before throwing a fit over bighits autotune :(

  • You're right, Everyone will forget stats, who remembers anyways? 🤷‍♀️

But Everyone will remember the ones who broke records to become The number 1 act in the world and Billboard number 1 many times, Korea's pride Grammy nominees , BTS😁

Yeah even tho I don't stan BTS people WILL surely remembers their songs. That alone discredits OP's entire thread. And fans of their faves will always remember their faves, this seems like a case of "I'm mad my biases are no longer on the top". Wich could be argued in BIG BANGs case because SM's boy groups were always making YG break their necks.

  • But Everyone will remember the ones who broke records to become The number 1 act in the world and Billboard number 1 many times, Korea's pride Grammy nominees , BTS😁

    grammy... korea doesn't care.

it was all because of hype and attention korea wanted from this event .... if not bts then someone else they don't care.

bts is more a social phenomenon than a cultural one.

they are more entertainers and performers than singers.

in the korean music scene and music industry, bts is one of the least appreciated and respected artists. they have hardly any contacts and connections there, friends at all.

the only thing everyone wants is the bts fans. some want the hype from their fans, many are afraid of armys.

actually in my opinion ARMY is much more influential and powerful and louder than BTS.

and often overshadows BTS success and popularity.

  • When anything about BTS makes it to their national news in Korea, even CNN? Come on, now. The BTS effect is a cultural one, just like Big Bang's and had an even greater effect in SK, tbh. BTS will forever be remembered, celebrated and comemmorated in Korea.

  • I wanna live in this parallel universe too that some of you all seem to reside in :pepecute:

  • BTS's amount of KMA's daesangs disagrees.

The have the respect of music critics and even classical music performrs. The connections to corrupted variety PDs or molka-obsessed C-list celebs might be missing, but is that something to be proud of?

  • BTS's amount of KMA's daesangs disagrees.

It's not even about their KMAs

All people have to do is look at their songs and it fits OPs "real world" criteria

I can easily name at least 10 BTS songs off the top of my head

hardly have any contacts and connections?

this is such a blatant lie

RM was collaborating with Korean artists (non idol ones) since their rookie days and prior to that

Since then they've worked with all sorts of Korean artists

and I hate to break it to you but your favs are performers and entertainers too (which isn't a negative, performing is a skill)

we are talking about kpop stars here, not reclusive indie bands or vocal groups

  • The deulusion is big on this one :pepewash:

~Blood stain on my shirt new bitch on my nerves~

  • every single collab. happened over email. suga has not even talked to IU on the phone.

i wouldn't call it an acquaintance.

they don't know anyone personally. that's why every time they see a korean celebrity or a regular variety show MC they act like little kids in front of an ice cream store.

they live like associal people between big hits building and concert hall.

  • I came to the thread, ready to appreciate Big Bang for the legends that they are, but then I saw how you are shitting on BTS and discrediting them.

Now, I'm questioning the real purpose of this thread: to really appreciate BB or shade other groups?

Question: isn't bigbang's reputation trashed in Korea due to all the scandals? So wont they just be remembered negatively or is that not the case? Im genuinely curious about this :/
