Who's the top 5th gen GG in korea ?

You have to give it to Illit.

YG is more interested in the international market, BM is geared towards that.

I feel the top spot is vacant. The closest is Illit, but I don't think there's any group that's clear. I think next year will be the perfect chance for a group to to take the top spot

ILLIT mostly because of Magnetic so far, but If they don't get another hit to bounce back, their debut success will carry their reputation until a certain point.

H2H so far is the most consistent. They didn't get a big hit, but they didn't have any catastrophic performance either. I think they will end up getting a breathrough hit in one way or another.

Closest we got is ILLIT, but I'm still waiting for a 5th gen gg to finally have a break out followed by consistency.

Like, the buzz is there, but nobody seems to have longevity.

KIOF debuted in 2023 they are nowhere near 5th gen.

Illit clears everyone with their charting and hits. Meoww and Izna are DAMN CLOSE though, theyve been putting out bop after bop.

Illit tbh! They’re the only one with a hit, good longevity and still able to chart decently well

Give it three years, and people will forget. Remember, we're dealing with ThickTok Gen, so memories aren't easily made these days...

It's time to stop treating Magnetic like the norm instead of the exception. It's doubtful ILLIT will ever have a song hit that big ever again.

It's about to be 2026. They haven't remotely approached that level of hit song again. It's time to move on from the one and done.

H2H is more impressive domestically.

BM is more impressive internationally.

Illit, for now... However, I don't think we'll truly get a standout for a couple of years.

Illit is still trading on Magnetic, but it'll eventually die down in about a year or so, as they'll need another big song to keep up the intense interest in them.

YG is doing a pretty interesting strategy with their 5th Gen groups (if you wanna consider Treasure 5th Gen).

They have their international groups (those two), but will be debuting their more Korea-oriented group in the coming years, hoping to replicate the success behind BB and BP with them. Treasure and BM are just good cash cows for them.

And yes Magnetic was a big deal, but i feel like after this there was nothing big or even a top 10 and actually i consider them a bit inconsistent in their performance

And i feel like after 2 comeback, the success of Magnetic is no longer enough to keep them at the top

On the other hands H2H have been more consistent than illit with all their releases

With their 2 comebacks ( style and focus)

Doing better in the chart than ( cherish or do the dance)

The thing is that Hearts2Hearts is still doing numbers similarly to current ILLIT.

For example, Style is, so far, H2H's best digital performance and It was released 2 days after Do The Dance. Even though Style did slightly better, this month It reached 100 million digital points only one week before Do The Dance and are only 4 spots above on Melon Top 100 as we speak.

So yes, H2H is more promising, but they haven't done anything significantly ahead of current ILLIT for me to already put them above when the later has Magnetic in their bag.

H2H are my girls and I voted for them anyways lol but imo Illit still does deserve top spot! They’re not ahead by much currently (I suppose that’s the issue with 5th gen, no group is really ahead yet) but Illit have the only hit so not much else to debate

3- H2H

4- Meovv

5- Izna/BM

Is KIOF still popular in Korea? It felt they had casual listeners last year, but they didn't really have a secure fan base. I think their title track didn't crack top 75 and album sales below other groups mentioned. I feel H2H is for sure ahead of them. Also a possibility that Meovv and BM are ahead of them in Korea.

Aside from magnetic DTD charted higher than any h2h song has. Style had slightly better longevity but they're still currently charting around the same number.

But also magnetic is continuing to chart well. I don't see the reason to disregard it.
