Anyone else tired of people trying to hold us accountable for toxicity on stan twitter?

Then disown the fandom.

If a toxic person calls themselves X and you also call yourself X, after a certain threshold of toxicity, you can't avoid being smeared by it.

If you try to defend the X label, you will be seen as defending the toxicity. And held accountable.

So disown.

It is difficult to disown when it comes to things like Religion and Nationality.

But Kpop fandom, that's easy.

Yet I find these days that fans have gone from defending the idol to defending the company to defending the fandom itself.

Stan, company-stan, fandom-stan.

Reject that.

Like BTS, reject the ARMY,

Like NJZ, disown Tokkies,

Like IU, reject being an Uaena,

Etc ,

This will also cause introspection on whether you are on it for the music/entertainment, or for the fandom cult wagon.

Then if someone accuses the fandom of the artist you like of toxicity, you can just "meh" and move on.

Actually, my point was that it's funny reading this from Yama, because you can blame Twitter Land for many things, but don't act as if some fans including Yama, and even you sometimes are not doing the same thing here on AKP.

I give my opinion in matters where I think it is interesting, but you'll never see me camping in threads of groups I obviously dislike their music direction just to be negative like tt people.

And I'm not innocent, but my responses are based in the users behaviors here and based in naming my faves most of the times.

I know but at this point, I don't bother anymore. People are just becoming too comfortable on the internet.

Not even sure why it took me this long to realize it, especially cuz I was fighting tooth and nail during the summer for LSF but I can't influence the behaviors of others. Surely, I can TRY but at the end of the day, all that is going to happen is useless discourse in which even I lose myself and start to display toxic behavior, also.

Whenever someone tries to project the actions of the other part of my fandom onto me, all I can do is reiterate the fact that I am not one of them. I've started to see it as a small price to pay for being part of the fandom.

That is a major reason why I stay as far away from both twitter and reddit as I can. Those two platforms contain the most vile and unhinged kpop stans and I'm not really surprised at the minimal level of moderation present there.

I agree. Part of the reason (besides work) that i took a hiatus is because i didnt want to pollute the board with TW level toxicity.

Aside from obvious trolls like Tati, badguy and a few others, this forum has very chill and fun members (assuming they're all human beings and not alt accounts of selfmade lol).

MYs, Blinks and Dives on TW are horrendous, the worst of all Kpop fandoms tbh. But here, their fans are good even hilarious at times. Esp the Aespa stans, so chill compared to the TW monstrosities.

Only a few of the Tokkis here (namely the aforementioned names) approach the toxicity of TW.

AKP Onces, Blinks, Dives, Mys, Army, Reveluvs, Nevies, etc are just fine.

Yes I think it’s silly when I see people attack a fandom based off a fandom on another platform people it’s not the same users!

Like when bunnies were having a go at H2H and KiiiKiii for copying allegations it had nothing to do with AKP bunnies as most are supportive and others don’t care lol

I think AKP has somewhat become very peaceful at least compared to other sites! Mostly everyone gets on or ignore those they dislike at the very least

stanning kiiikiii will ease all toxicity in your physical and mental being. since i started on this pilgrimage, i have seen numerous changes in my daily life. to start, i cooked a proper breakfast two days in a row instead of eating crackers & cheese and cheap instant coffee. i also feel at peace mentally and physically when i am spreading kiiikiii's teachings to do yourself and do yourself right. furthermore, i ventured outside and touched some grass today. it was quite a surreal experience, and deepened my connection with kiiikiii's teachings. come join me in my expedition to find the true meaning of life with the help of the kiiikiii church and its leaders.

A major issues about holding fan bases accountable is that some of the fans causing noise aren't a fan of the group. There are many people that join in on the toxicity because they don't like an opposing group or fan base.

At least as far as Twitter is concerned, because I use that for not just Kpop updates, but a few other interests I follow and SOME political stuff, I've very much learnt to just keep my feed perma locked on "Following".

Post "Deadbeat Father Nazimans" takeover of X, I never venture onto "For You" and therefore don't get exposed nearly as much to toxic shitfuckery, kpop or otherwise.

I curate who I follow, mainly official accounts, clip/picture accounts or update accounts that aren't centered around toxicity.
